They're probably still stinging (Ha!) from Columbine. But seriously, an eight-year-old with some moulding? It's not like he's strong enough to push the point of it through the cops' poly-blend uniforms, much less break skin.
I think pepper spray was totally the wrong course of action here. Clearly what would have been more appropriate is a tranquillizer gun.

No way. Obviously he was skilled enough with a piece of plywood to block tranq darts. And even if they hit him, he was definitely too hopped up on kiddie adrenaline for any tranq chemicals to take effect.

White, and seething with rage. Just look at the fury in his eyes!

You're right. It's obviously been too long since I last played SWAT 4. Just chucking a flashbang through the door before storming the room was the safest course of action for all concerned.

Now that's a future career criminal if ever I saw one.

Considering that cops have already taken "forceful measures" against him, he's already got something a record. I mean, there's paperwork involved when using resources like pepper spray and taser cartridges. "Who did you use it on, why, where, etc". That's the way it was in the Army, anyway. The Army keeps paperwork on everything, in triplicate. PD's in CO may be slightly more lax.

GameRager: I wonder if they'll just scrub his record clean or seal it away (in essence making it look clean again) cuz he's a kid? Probably.
On this side of the pond you get a clean slate at 18. That is unless they're still in a detention centre in which case they go to big boys' prison for the remainder of their sentence. But even then I don't think they get a record by the end of it.
