AlKim: Also, people live longer now than in the pre-industrial era, and most, if not all types of cancer are more common among the elderly than the young. It's hard to die of what we generally think of a condition of the elderly when the average life expectancy hovers around our midlife crisis mark.
The AVERAGE life expectancy was lower, pre industrial infant mortality drags it down quite alot.

EDIT: And you people are all nuts, yeah many things can kill you, so you decide to care about none?

I actually just had my blood test on Friday and I'm still waiting for the results. 10 years I've bee doing this and this shit never gets easier! Maybe I'll have a Coke while I sweat out the wait.
Why would you use a title "Coca Cola and Pepsi Give You Cancer" when the content of the message says that Coke no longer contains the chemical?
It's a long time caramel coloring is known to be 'real' bad. You can easily dig up a website about colorings in general and learn which ones are to be avoided.

Tony Soprano once said 'Don't §h|t where you eat', he would have said today 'Just don't be dumb enough to buy into eating shhhh...'

From what I understand, some of the Coca Cola facilities still use it.

Stiler: Glad I ditched soda.

Never a big fan of coke/pepsi but loved sprite. However aft era health scare last year I went to water and though it was hard at first after a few months you get used to it and don't really crave soda's.
It was really hard at first. Funny thing is, occasionally when I am in a restaurant, I order a Coca-Cola. While drinking it I think it is not very good and would rather have a water or an iced tea.
I stopped drinking soda not for the chemicals involved, but because of the amount of sugar. Even the sweet tea I occasionally drink has about half the sugar. And no I would never drink any of that Diet Sugar Cancer Shit. I stopped with the caffeine three or four years ago.

Shaolin_sKunk: Crystal Pepsi, man, it didn't do well. I doubt the lack of caffeine was the sticking point either.
Hah, yeah, I remember that. But I didn't think the formula was the same as Pepsi just minus the coloring. I remember it tasted different (in a bad way). I always thought food coloring was tasteless but it seems caramel coloring isn't if Wikipedia is correct:

"It is more fully oxidized than caramel candy, and has an odor of burnt sugar and a somewhat bitter taste."
"In soft drinks, it can function as an emulsifier[7] to help inhibit the formation of certain types of "floc" and its light protective quality can aid in preventing oxidation of the flavoring components in bottled beverages.[8]"
I've been drinking on average a litre per week since a few years back as I love the taste of coke and after a while the excessive amount of sugar didn't bother me, it still doesn't (yet I'm quite sensitive to sweet stuff with other drinks or food) but I've been cutting down as I've somewhat lost interest in it, I rarely get it to be in a good state (super cold and with a lot of carbonic acid).
And thats why I stick to 7-up

Some other things with higher levels of radioactive isotopes then considerable amounts for their size are potatoes, sunflower seeds and kidney beans.

I feel that you do not believe me purely because I am on the internet.
I feel ever so slightly dismayed at this. I, the king of Scotland!!!
Look, just about anything you can actually eat or drink is harmful in sufficient quantities. And I've never heard anyone actually say that sodas were good for your health.

It's impossible these days not to eat anything that's potentially harmful. The best way to ensure you're as healthy as possible is to have a balanced diet and consume everything in moderation.

Or you can just eat and drink whatever you want and pretty much ignore all the recommendations of the nutritionists, doctors and other specialists.
Realistically speaking, even if you have the worst possible diet, short of actually eating poison, you're only shaving a few years off your lifespan at worst, which you probably gain back by not stressing yourself about food and ignoring all the health nuts out there.
