Hi all,
I just had the idea to run a new contest with something not run before here :)
Content Topic: Make a Game in HTML5 using a GOG Theme (this can be either based on a game available on GOG, or make a game around GOG itself (maybe an adventure about DRM?))
Tools to use:
You can use any tool to this as you wish.
Free Tools:
- Scripted all by yourself :)
- free version of Construct2 (http://www.scirra.com)
- GameSalad (http://gamesalad.com/)
- RPG JS (http://rpgjs.com/)
- Stencyl (http://www.stencyl.com/) (HTML 5 support not yet released)
- Crafty (http://craftyjs.com/)
- Lime JS (http://www.limejs.com/)
Tools where you need a licence:
- GameMaker (http://www.yoyogames.com/gamemaker/html5)
- Impact (http://impactjs.com/)
- Dark Flow (darkflow.net) (Can export to IPad, HTML5 and EXE at the moment, but needs a licence ($9.99) for each platform you like to export)
There are also other tools available. I will try to keep the list up to date.
All the games need to be finished by 31st March.
Rules:
You are only allowed to submit 1 Game to the contest.
The winner will be selected by a voting using a secret formula.
The submitted game must be sent to me (you can use any file hoster to put a zip together).
The Games will be hosted by me, to get sure that no one changes something after the deadline :)
Prize:
2 GOG Games (up to $9.99 each) of free choice for the winner.
1 Steam Version of Sid Meier's Civilization V: Game of the Year Edition
1 Steam Version of Hacker Evolution Duality.
1 Steam Version of Cthulhu Saves the World & Breath of Death VII Double Pack
1 Steam Version of Eye Divine Cybermancy (Contributed by CardMaker57)
1 Gamersgate Version of Crusader Kings Complete
If someone likes to add some prizes... feel free to contact me :)
How the Prizes will be spread? Beginning with the winner, he can select one prize from all available. The next highest score can select the next prize and so on. :)
Happy coding.
