Maybe this topic often comes up in some other discussions but since I haven't found proper thread for this request I decided to run one on my own :)

Dear GoG Crew, is there any possibility that we will see one of the Total War series game in our Games Catalogue? The Medieval title is a milestone in the epic-strategy gaming genre and, for instance, Shogun is its great successor designed in times convincing and tempting as well as Europe of the "dark times". In my opinion (that is for sure shared by many more than just me) it will be a golden release giving to GoG clients extraordinarly worth buying game.

Sorry for the letter-like built of that post, it's just a way to encourage you for a quick response :)
You can vote for Total War, and any other classics you'd like to see come back, here: http://www.gog.com/en/wanted

How can Shogun be a successor if it's the first game in the series. Shogun --> Medieval --> Rome --> Medieval 2 --> Empire --> Shogun 2

But good games thou. Epic in every aspect. I have played Rome more than I have lived. Or at least thats what it feels.
Sega need to get their arses on GOG first. They'd be a good fit given that they're all for reviving their old console games.

Ouch, that's a mistake! I thought about Rome and wrote about Shogun - my bad :)
Anyways, my story is almost the same as yours. But my Rome first release edition isn't working with my Vista so on of the last hopes lies somewhere between GoG development schedules ;)

Huh, maybe we will even see Sonic one day...? ;)

It's not impossible, I suppose. But Sega seem to be holding off on some of the best known Megadrive games at the moment.
Shogun TW cannot run in hardware accelerated mode on modern GF cards (starting from 9xxx series I think). This problem is known to both Nvidia and Creative Assembly for a long time but they are not willing to bring us solution.. I was thinking about workaround: running STW on Glide wrapper but didn't have opportunity to test it.

I've recently purchased Shogun: Total War from Gamer's Gate (couldn't find it on Steam or D2D ) and also had Medieval on disc, but had problems with battlefield video. I've read from support forums that those earlier games will have those issues with video with GeForce 8800's and 9800's (I'm not sure about more advanced cards since I use a 9800 GTX+ ). Fortunately, I still have my XP machine with a 7800 card installed and the battlefield on Shogun and Medieval works fine.

I have not seen any updates on any forums stating that the situation has changed.

Also, I think these are the first games I've ever played which automatically kills my anti-virus and firewall settings so in order to play single player, I have to essentially remove my computer from my router.

Still, I love those games and it would be great to see them here!

Seems that way, nevertheless they should be willing to release some of their goldie' oldies for modern systems. A significant percentage of their target are still retro maniacs, I assume.

I didn't know that those games caused so many hardware-software problems. It may be the case of their absence in the digital merchandise like Steam or GoG.

But wouldn't be a great deal for Creative Assembly to just release the patch and start money-making on those titles once again?
Give me Shogun and forget the rest. They're just standard clickfests with not much emphasize on tactics.

Alright Medieval is at least playable so GOG can release that as a free game. No way I'll pay for it.

In this case, it seems the problem are with graphics card drivers, not the game code. So if it's every going to be fixed, it's up to Nvidia to do it.

Oh, puck. If it seriously is something with hardware and drivers we can equally wave goodbye to the first Total War games. Or just adjust to the new systems.
