Foxhack: jeffreydean1, some folks here at the forums expressed concern that Hasbro removing the games from several sites might mean they would vanish from GOG as well.

Luckily, it seems that isn't the case.

cogadh: If there was concern, it was completely unwarranted. We already knew GOG had brokered a deal with Hasbro and everyone they were suing (or were they suing Hasbro? I can't keep those things straight) to get the games here in the first place. There was no danger of them leaving here, only the potential for them to finally show up on other sites, thanks to GOG's negotiations (GOG's deal set a precedent that others could follow). You might even say these games showing up elsewhere was inevitable, so unless they are offering a phenomenal deal on these games somewhere else, this is really non-news. At least one of those GS collection might be considered a good deal, but still not worth the dramatic announcement or the OPs frustration over a few of us pointing out the obvious that he seemed to have missed.

That''s why I said at the last sale they had (a few weeks ago). Games go on sales all the time. This one will be back too no doubt.

And yes, I read all of it, and then I decided to come back to that sentence since in my opinion, it *is* a phenomenal deal, particularly when it's on sale. You can argue it's not, when it's not on sale. That's perfectly fine. But these are old games. Another month or two won't kill me, so mostly I value them by their sales prices. Fair enough if you don't though. That's why it was my opinion that it was a phenomenal deal. It wasn't meant to take away from your post or anything.

There are CD collections (official) that have the EOB series and the SSI games. I've got two separate ones. One is the Krynn/Pools of Radiance/EOB/Savage Lands series and the other is the Al Qadim/Ravenloft/Menzoberranzan/Dark Sun collection.

They might be a bit more expensive than a person would want, but the collections are out there. They work on Win 95 & XP, dunno about 7 or Vista.

About the only Forgotten Realms game that isn't on them is Spelljammer.

Who's heckling? The guy posted something as if it was a major news story, which in my opinion, it isn't. I was discussing that inoffensively and intelligently with everyone else here, but the OP obviously can't tolerate anyone disagreeing with him and decided to get all immature and insulting over it. If anything, he's the one at fault here.

Well granted most of the titles we already have here at GOG but I was amazed that it seems folks like me here in Japan can buy. The exchange rate will be hard to figure because of not knowing exactly when the transaction would go through. But the prices in yen seem to be on par with the us price here on GOG. The only thing that is really sad as already said before is the missing D&D games of Dragonlance, Eye of the Beholder series, and of course the Gold Box series.

GOG, please find a way to get the Gold Box series of D&D on here.
