You can now download the demo for Omerta City of Gangsters, and read the first impressions from RPS.

Thanks for the heads-up, downloading.
It'd be a good idea to create a similar thread in the appropriate forum section dedicated to the game, too.
I had high expectations, but the game doesn't really live up to them, so far as I can see from the demo. The mechanics feel flawed (they're not gangsters, they're couriers), it's simplistic, and if you like a little more depth in your strategies you probably aren't their targeted audience. You basically just unlock new houses via informants and trade alcohol and arms. Sometimes you engage in a relatively good tactical combat, but in a very predetermined scenarios.

I'll wait for the game to actually come out before making my final conclusion on the game, but as of now it seems this game isn't really for me.
I don't do impressions; I'm just an innkeeper.
I have just played through the demo. This are some pros and cons I have noticed.

Pros
-Scripted campain with storyline (untli now I like the story)
-Trading system with other characters
-Good round-based tactical fight system (not as good as the old fallout combat system, but I liked it)
-Interactions with police, other shops, politicans, famous persons
-You can drive off other shop keepers
-Addons for your House

Cons
-Too less options for interacting with police, other shops, politicans, famous persons
-Very limited space for founding new shops/small districts
-No real AI-Player (who try to get controll of your shops and to settel down in the district) / no "real" competition
-Addons for the House are just cosmetical

For I've played only the demo, I don't know which flaws will get better/worser in the later game. I would also like to know, what the sandbox mode will be. But I fear it will be the same as in the campaing.

Interessting will be the multiplayer mode of Omerta. I really look forward to see something about it, because with a human opponent I will finally get some "real" competition.
