Well i am not the richest person around, i dont even have a job, but the gog community was always a nice one, i won some contest or two and people here are always hepful, so i see it as my duty to give something back, and whats better than in my opinion one of the best games ever made?

As i said, i am not the richest guy around, so one game has to be enough for now.

Ok guys, you have time til 10 PM saturday german timezone - good luck finding out when that is (its about a little over 48 hours from now).

ok winnign the game involves some steps:

1. promise that you will play through the game at least two times using two different charakter builds, they dont have to be extremely different like total opposites, but there should at least be a little key difference. I dont want to force you to play as something that doesnt suit you, so you decide how to make the charakters different in some way. There are enough possiblities: skills, gear, the way problems are approached, ....

2. the first playthrough should happen before the year ends! i know many people dont have much time and i know many people are playing massive stuff like skyrim right now. I dont want to gift the game and then let it be unplayed, so you have like 11 months time to do it - plz let me know how you liked the game afterwards :)

3. ok here is where the contest comes, as some people know i want to tell a story, and i found that doing it with a comic might be the best way for me to do it, comics can be cinematic and i can express everything in my own style
i cant draw, i am learning it, so to participate in the contest link me something helpful, i own a small graphic tablet and want to work digitally, but i also use my pencil here and there
just a few ideas of what you can link me: software to draw or design comics, drawing tutorials, a community where i can participate with drawings to practise, fonts for the comic, stuff that helps me creating charakters and the world (and i dont mean just graphics now), lessons about cinematography (since comics are to a degree like movies), lessons about color, anything

one link is enough, if you have more go ahead, and if you want to participate but you dont have any clue what to link - well i wont stop you from linking me dozens of "how to draw donald duck" tutorials, i dont think that those kind of tutorials help me that much, but the contest is just to motivate you to help me, not from stopping you to have a chance to get the game :)

winner will be chose randomly 10 pm saturday german time (as mentioned in about 48 hours)

good luck everybody, and thank you so much for everybody in advance who links me something helpful :)

Not an entry since there's another one I'm in at the moment, and hopping in two for the same game would be dishonest. But, those first two conditions are kind of impossible to verify. As for the software, I'll dig up a few things and send you by PM. But of course, it'll be a few months before you pick up on your style method and ability when you actually have the software.

Not an entry since I cant promise two playthroughs...heck I cant promise even one. But I think GOG is full of honest people and they are in same trouble as me. We cant make such promise :(
I'm in :)

Not an entry.

I am quite curious about Deus Ex actually, since lots of people seem to like it. However, I am not sure I can play it since from my understanding it is a first-person perspective game, and I get simulator/motion sickness very easily from playing first-person perspective games (unless the movement is step-by-step a la Eye of the Beholder, Anvil of Dawn, Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos, etc.). So... as much as I am curious, I'll have to let it pass. I still put it in my wishlist though, so who knows maybe in the future I can give it a try...

Anyway, to repeat what I said above, this is not an entry, but +1 for you.

Fred Gallagher, author of the web comic Megatokyo will often stream his comic creating process live, including drawing and hatching. I imagine you could pick some useful information up from watching him.
Here's an entry.

This is the graphics software I use: http://www.getpaint.net/ (though I don't do comics, I imagine it would be useful, and it's FREE, always a plus!)

Here are some cartoon-specific tutorials, but I cannot attest to their usefulness.

Thank you and good luck with your comics!

Here's an entry and a way to find to keep adding

I'm a Photoshop user so brusheezy.com is awesome for brushes and is a good portal for other PS stuff (like vectors, Backgrounds).

In terms of writing, for our creative writing class we took Alan Moore's "Alan Moore's Writing For Comics Volume 1". It's not just a "I sit by the fire and write" sort of book but talks about how to set up universes, characters, and not have wooden dialogue. If you dig around Keenspot (portal for webcomics), you can find old and discontinued comics and figure out how/where they went wrong. One of the best examples of evolution in art is CRFH.net which started in 1999 on Keenspot and then did its own thing.

One of the most innovative webcomics is asofterworld.com and I've bought a couple prints from them. It's really different than most webcomics (some of my favs. include garfield minus garfield, sinfest).

[Edit: Brush King is another good brush place. Gamerenders.com great for vectors (but don't make $$ for those -use them as practice for cutting, software usage) ]

**[ EDIT 2: planet renders is also a great website for all sorts of goodies and the forum is pretty lively and helpful ]**

I wish I COULD link you something useful and promise two playthroughs.. I can't in good conscience enter, but totally appreciate the contest!
I think f these can be quite useful to you:

http://tag.wonderhowto.com/computer-draw/
http://danidraws.com/2007/08/07/the-complete-digital-comic-part-1-sketching-and-pencilling-in-photoshop/

this is quite easy to understand step by step guide:
http://www.gomediazine.com/tutorials/comic_book_style/

This one is very important in comic, about caption and lettering.
http://www.blambot.com/grammar.shtml

check out the font section too, it's very useful, there are 3 types:
FREE FONTS are for any independent comics use, or non-commercial use.
PAY FONTS have extra characters and features. Perfect for professional, commercial uses.
LIMITED EDITION FONTS are available only during the week of San Diego Comic Con.
http://www.blambot.com/fonts.shtml

There are so much stuff there, you might interested to check few of them. Take your time, check them one by one. I hope you're not feel stressed with so much link and information linked to you by GOG community. Choose the one that suit your pace and style :)

This is an entry, i'll gladly accept your challenge.
