I'm sort of confused about what this game actually is. Some of the reviewers say it's just a revamped version of Disciples III.

It's on a decent sale right now at 70% off. It says it's a Steamworks game though, and Steam doesn't have it, so that's a bit confusing. I also can't find it on review sites.

Anyway, anyone have an opinion on this? Worth 9 USD?

I did some quick searching and it seems that it's the same game as Disciples 3 Rebirth, which is on Steam. I can't vouch for it personally, but that's what I'm gathering from the bit of googling I've done on it.

*edit* Okay, I could be wrong on it being D3 Rebirth, but This Thread on the Steam forums seems to indicate that the game actually does activate on Steam even though it's not listed and it doesn't show up in a search. Very weird though.

Yeah, strange. Apparently the company went out of business days before releasing that product. Perhaps Steam is allowing it to activate when purchased from third party sites, but doesn't want to sell it themselves because they know there will be a lack of updates from the publisher and they don't want to be responsible for issues, I guess.

I never played Disciples III since it got pretty bleh reviews. However the reviews for this 'remake' seem to be overall pretty solid. Might pick it up since it's only 9 bucks.
