I've been playing much Divinity 2 lately, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I think I'm nearing its end (I'm in the Hall of Echoes now, defeating the once-vanquished enemies) and since the Dragon Knight Saga is available for a very low price here (2700 HUF, which means ~$13), I'm planning on buying it. However, I have two questions regarding it.

1. How much, if any, does it add to the original game content-wise (in regards to quests, items, NPCs, and so on)?
2. Can I use my character from Divinity 2 in the remastered version, taking him to the expansion? And if I can, should I start a new one anyway (for example, to benefit from the expanded/redone base game)?

Thanks!

If you want to use the same save you need to get just the expansion, Flames of Vengeance. It adds a whole new area and a lot of story content, some of the best content in the entire experience actually.

Dragon Knight Saga (which you can buy outright or patch Divinity 2 + Flames of Vengeance into) remasters some quests and rebalances some fights, making the game a little easier and less frustrating early on, when you really had to grind to survive in the original.
1.FOV adds a whole new sequence after the main game has concluded(which is when the expansion pack officially starts).

Cant really say much due to spoilers, Adds around 15-20hrs on dependant on how many of
the side quests you do. Ties a lot of the story up as the ending leaves a lot of holes open.

2. I believe it doesnt change much from the original bar the graphics overhaul, I know it does remove some of the no fly zones that occur later in the game, I think on the pc you can use your original character though you can start anew and have a already leveled character you can apply points to to choose what path you want your character to be
Thank you both for answering.
In Hungary, you can't buy Flames of Vengeance, but, like I said, DKS is very cheap (in fact, cheaper than the original ever was).

@Violatorx
Do you thus think I shouldn't start a new character if I'll just have played through Ego Draconis (provided I can indeed use my save)?

I had a look on the official site and you can buy the pack FOV I believe for 20 euros
https://www.larianvault.com/

Or If you want to get dks as planned which is probably cheaper you should have no problem importing your save into dks

I copied this from the offical FOV FAQ
Can I continue playing with my character from Divinity II - Ego Draconis?
Yes. You can load any savegame you have from Divinity II - Ego Draconis and continue playing. When you reach the end of Divinity II - Ego Draconis, the story will automatically continue and your character will keep all of its stats, items and skills.

But I deleted my savegames already!
Not to worry, you can also start in the Divinity II - Flames of Vengeance areas immediately from the main menu and create a new cool custom level 35 character with the skills and stats you want. Or you can take one of the preset characters.

So either way if you can just make a level 35 character up even with the same skills that you used to play the expansion with and save time or if the save import doesnt work for some reason. You prob wont have your items but TBH the equipment in FOV is a LOT better anyway

Tip I would say though is to invest in mindread as it costs around 10x what it does in the main game

Thanks for your time, ViolatorX. Indeed, DKS is much cheaper for me, so I'll go with that.
I am 99% sure you cannot use a save game from Divinity 2 in DKS. They made a huge deal about that when DKS came out, so unless a patch changed it or someone hacked it I'm pretty sure that's not possible (and would be buggy if it is, in the case of a hack).

The FAQ quote above refers to Flames of Vengeance, which is not DKS.

That's not so good to know...
I've sank a large number of game hours into this character, and while I may have the option of using a new level 35 one, I guess he/she doesn't have the extra skillpoints gathered from the numerous skill books and mindreads, now does (s)he?

I'm not sure how well you can define a high-level starting character since I never tried it.
I bought the pack yesterday, and I like it so far.
Although it's true I couldn't use my latest saved game to continue the game, I could distribute a very generous amount of stat/skill points during character creation (I don't remember the exact number of stat points, but I could distribute 64 skill points, so yes, it does count extra gatherable points). I'm also glad to see my battle tower intact (my only annoyance is that I have to collect formulas again, and so far I only saw them on sale by a talking skeleton-enchanter).
