TheCheese33: Since the recent Mel Gibson film Edge of Darkness shows they're not above Americanizing some of their British products, maybe they'll do a "reboot" of Doctor Who with a big Hollywood budget. It will make fans in both countries very, very angry, but I'd imagine it will do fine at the box office.
Doctor Who will always remain with the BBC and always shown on free-to-air TV in the UK as it's funded and owned by the BBC. Because of the licence fee they can't ever charge for a BBC original production and they certainly can't sell it abroad other than to show the original show.
You are however getting Torchwood. It's being moved to the US along with previous Doctor Who producers Russel T Davies and Julie Gardner. I only hope Fox and BBC America don't screw it up. They last time they collaborated on a Who related product we got Doctor Who: The TV Movie.
