Well, Amazon sell it.
As far as GOG go, I can't see it, but why not try a new (old) vamp sim? I always thought the legacy of kain games were a bit too repetitive. I haven't tried the first Vampire: the masquerade game, but I know that the sequel "Bloodlines" was execellent (once the nice developer had patched everything that the company failed to fixed before folding). Have a play on the first instead, or beg GOG to get Bloodlines? just an idea.
good thinking 99

If you have a PS3, it's for sale on Playstation Network.

Has it been added recently?
Amazon and eBay are your friends here, there's plenty of choice there. You are searching for the FIRST, 2D Blood Omen, not the 3D one for the PS2. Furthermore, don't forget to get the patch for newer Windows versions or you'll have very bad dreams trying to make it run on Seven or whatever...

It's available in North America, but not elsewhere afaik.
Really don't understand why they put regional restrictions like that.

Thats a shame, they seem to be missing alot of good games that are only avaliable in the US.
Be warned you might have trouble getting it to run properly - I had weird graphical errors when I last did.

I suspect its a rating thing, since the english and australian ratings are compulsory and backed by law, they'd probably have to be sumitted for rating again since re-releases are usually treated as a separate product.
As I understand it, the ESRB rating is technically voluntary so companies are free to ignore it or just recycle the rating from the original release.
A re-submission means paying more so they'd be unlikely to do it since the ROI would likely be fairly low

Actually I doubt it's that (well in reality I'm just guessing based on my gut instinct, you could be totally right). The publishing rights in other regions are probably held by different entities. Perhaps Sony does not think it's worth it to negotiate rights elsewhere in the world. As far as ratings go, MS a lot of areas allow you to not have online only games rated, which is why single player XBox Live Indie games always connect you to Live while you're playing; I'm sure Sony knows how to play the same trick (but iirc I heard something about Live Indie not being available everywhere, so who knows?).

No technically about it, it's voluntary. Of course no store will sell your game without one, and no console company will give you a license, which I am sure is what you were hinting at, but it is 100% voluntary.
Another win for PC digital downloads.

MPAA ratings are "voluntary" too. Watch This Film Is Not Yet Rated for a gruesome look into the ratings world (I don't know how much resemblance game ratings bear to movie ratings but I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the same crap go on). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0493459/
You can stream it on Netflix instant watch as well.
