I was under the impression that xyem already has the code. I think it's time to end this game since there's very little traction in this thread.

I don't think xyem has the code of the game that could be won. I assume the winner of this contest will pick the game he/she wants.

Also xyem said in the OP: "During play, please bear in mind that active dogma at the end of this game will continue into the next game (i.e. Blankers #1) so please avoid game-breaking dogma such as instant-win conditions. "

xyem did tell us not to do that i was about to vote No to it as well.

we could attempt to pass a dogma that Xyem purchases the code(s) while they are on sale, that match everyones 'dogma wishlist' in the blankers recruitment thread, or picks titles off those lists.

(edit your lists if you snagged the titles already though)

Wishlist is fine, but we need a way of determining who gets what should it appear on 2 or 3 different wishlists.

So... No on the proposals and I'll say this:

Proposal: Game code winner is determined after each and every player posts their RANKED wishlist. Winner is determined by whoever has the game (for which the code is for) in that ranked wishlist. Should there be more than 1 wishlists with this game, the player with the game at a higher ranking wins the game code. In the event of a tie, the player who posted his wishlist earlier wins the game code. Xyem will say who won the game code. In the event that nobody won, Xyem can say nobody won the game and players can repost an amended wishlist for another round.

thats too complicated. with too many indefinites.

your trying to roll 2 important things into 1 dogma.
this wont work because this dogma would end the game, and also would roll forwards to the next game. the same issue with the random.org sudden death.

- we do need an updated list of games wed all like to win.

- we do need to set up a win condition. (this has been needed greatly the entire time)
but everyone get sidetracked with % dogmas, which is illogical. if we cant even come up with a win condition concept why would i relinquish control to any select few who have demonstrated their lack of NEW ideas, or desire to vote on dogmas.
(your complex dogma is 'new' not singling you out. its just too complicated, and should be split into 2 different dogmas for it to have a snowball's chance.)

if no code has been gotten we should try to pass a dogma where King Xyem gets a code or a few codes while they are on sale.
if Xyem has already purchased the game code to be won most of this is moot but lets get the ball rolling in case it matters and enough votes might turn up in time.

even if Xyem picked one at random off the updated/current lists it would be cool. doesnt have to be a game on Every players list. he could pick his fav out of the list of titles of whatever. its just to get a consensus and updated lists before the sale time totally expires.
plus like before not everyone even put a list.

Now that we've certified who has voting power in this thread, I think the next steps are 2) determine the game to be won and 3) how it's won. Since Xyem is insanely generous, my first thought is to have the game picked now so that he can get it on sale, and save some cash.

I think we should post a bunch of games we want, and then try to find something all (or most) would like. Maybe post a dozen games each, make a list of the five most common games from our lists, and then majority vote decides which of those five is the prize?

I am actually somewhat flexible with my wishlist. How about setting up a price limit instead, and the winner is allowed to wait until there is a sale to redeem his prize (or whenever the winner wants). Seeing how efficient we are, this can drag on until the winter sale ;-)

Actually it might already be interesting to see what price limit will get passed as a dogma.

When it's 100% vote for for a dogma to be accepted it's hard to please everyone.
That's why a 85% would have been nice and that's why I didn't even bother to come up with a new ideea.
