I use two source ports, I use GZDoom for a large majority of mods and to play Doom with some modern FPS mechanics such as jumping, crouching, and complete mouselook without auto aim turned on, just to be fair. :P I also use Chocolate Doom for when I want to play Doom like how it is meant to be played to a degree without using DOSBox for it since I do not have the DOS versions of Doom, Doom II, and Final Doom.

jefequeso: Huh. Brutal Doom sounds interesting. I might try that. Maybe I should give ZDoom another try too. I stopped using it because it was running into weird issues on my last computer. But it would be nice to be able to turn off all the added features and still have a good resolution and slicker control options (something that you can't really do with jDoom very easily).
The latest version of Brutal Doom is out, give it a shot if you haven't:

zDoom works great on my laptop and looks nice. Therefore I love zDoom.
Brutal Doom is A-W-E-S-O-M-E, btw. I'm playing it with GZdoom, and it works like a charm. Nice gameplay changes, and the new gore effects and fatalities are simpyly glorious!

Same, playing it in GZDoom too. Have tried it with Memento Mori and Doom 2, and it's heaps of fun.
I gave GZDoom a try and it works fine. I am wondering if there are any high-res packs for it, though.

Oh, and does GZDoom not need GLBSP? Only I haven't seen any reference to GLBSP in the GZDoom files. So does it handle it automatically?
Well, just to give an update to this thread of mine (even if it is over two months since the last post), I found out today that there is a new version of GZDoom (1.7.0). I've given it a try and can't see any difference to the previous version (1.6.0) but I guess it has bug fixes and such and it does use a newer version of ZDoom for its base (2.6.1).

Just a question though, for those who do use GZDoom. Are there any recommendations on how to set it up? Such as how can you have one folder for each game so that the saves are kept separate? Or would it be that a separate instance of GZDoom should be used if separate save folders is desired?

Also, I'm guessing that everything is kept inside the generated ini file. So if I were to use the option to not ask me again for which IWAD to use, how would I turn that option off again? I've looked inside the ini but can't see what it might be.
