I have been a member for over a year now, and this is the first time I feel the urge to write in GOG.com's forums. The reason for this is a) I didn't have any problems with the games I purchased from GOG so far and b) recent news arose some doubts for my favorite distributor. I totally welcome the idea of GOG.com selling more recent yet still DRM free games, however I have some doubts the implementation of this plan, since "new games" mean "new problems" now a days.
1. If recent indeed means "brand new", is it possible to persuade big publishers with strict DRM policies to DRM-free distribution? It's a long leap from requiring a constant internet connection even for single player games or scanning a consumer's hard drive without their knowledge as some publishers do, to "DRM-Free".
2. What about patches? How will they be distributed? New games are almost released in beta state these days.
3. Goodies. Won't publishers see them as getting in the way of selling "hyper über editions"?
4. Will extra content like DLCs or expansion packs will be sold in GOG.com?
I'm pretty sure I'm not the most clever person on this planet and you have thought about those issues. The lack of information however, creates doubts for me. Thanks.
