It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hello

How do I do this? Obviously no games work when bought on this appalling site, and to keep in line with that the fine people at GoG developed a suitably broken downloader. It does not open, it does not respond, I have uninstalled, re-installed, I have done everything I can do. I cannot download this game. How do I bypass this atrocious downloader?

This will be last time I use this site, i'm absolutely sick of it.

Works fine for me on three computers so it's not broken...
Just go to "My Account" —> "My Games" and download directly from there. You don't need the GOG Downloader at all, just your browser.

First of all, you don't need to use the downloader to download your games. If you want to just use the Windows downloader, make sure you turn OFF the gog downloader and then just click on the games files and it will download using the Windows downloader.

Second and finally, it would be educational for me to know what about the site is appalling, because I've had an entirely different experience with it. To me it's the easiest, by far, to buy and download and install games on.

EDIT: Ninjad.... TWICE!!! That's because I'm so long winded.

With Firefox I had to add the downloader as a type of extension so it knows to activate it and download the games.

You can however download via your browser if you wish, to do this click the game in question and you get a drop down, then on the right hand side at the top of the drop down bit there is a button there that says "GOG.com Downloader mode", click the little green switch thing beside it so that it says OFF, doing this will allow downloads in the usual way through your browser.

EDIT :

May I also suggest in the future that if you are having an issue instead of going on in the tone you have to simply just state I am having issues would someone mind helping me out or has an alternative solution. You will find that it will go down much better with the community

You could try Dta OneClick - it works for me, and trust me, I've got abysmal internet.
Maybe the OP is confused that the downloader doesn't also install the games (like Steam does)? It's just a "downloader" after all and not an "installer", so you'll still have to run the downloaded installer, which I assume is where all the other downloads are on Windows (not a Windows user myself).
You're annoying .

Dear OP, the staff here wants you to move your car.

Yeah I'm going to get mass derepped, who cares? It's funny. XD

Maybe the only game the OP owns is Interstate 76? Because I've yet to find another game sold here that didn't work out of the box after running the installer. Anyway as posted above, switch downloader requirement off, use your browser and profit.

I76 worked fine for me. Your OS must be as worthless as this site. :P

Hehe nah, the OS is just fine, it didn't like my processing speed ;) Dual Core was a bit too much for it. But made it work with 3rd party tools + nglide. I just wish I could say the same about Elder Scrolls: Redguard.

Your cars drive normally? Scripts don't break? Flamethrower and mortar works properly?

Not sure if you're lucky or maybe your CPU is just low end :P (or you spent time fixing it)

I want to take a second and say to any noobs who happen upon this thread, normally we aren't like this when someone has a problem with the site but then most people don't address the problem in the same manner which the OP has chosen to do.

Things go wrong here, the installer screws up, games don't run right, faucets drip, but I ASSURE YOU, so long as you are patient and specific with your issue then steps will be taken to remedy it. More times than not it's a simple matter of settings but if it goes beyond that the staff here will stick with it and if ultimately there is no solution then you will be refunded.....JUST BE PATIENT AND RESPECTFUL ABOUT IT! :D

Can you imagine if you were working a help desk, you have a line of ten people in front of you, all of sudden some asshole bust in, shoves everyone aside, forgoes the line and just starts yelling at you? what would you be more prone to do, help him/her or tell them to "fuck off"?

EXACTLY! XD
To be honest, there are games here that do not work proper, at least not for me. It can be expected, though, as there are quite a lot of variables between computers and the majority of games are somewhat old.

I'm sure support is willing to help you, OP. Send them a mail.

Oh, and the games that doesn't work for me? Master of Orion 1 +2 ja Tyrian.
