Guess EA is shutting down the servers for the Facebook game, luckily I don't play FB games, feel bad for those who actually spent money. But they're releasing a free offline singleplayer version:

I played the DA flash game (http://www.dragonagejourneys.com/) before they released DAO and I really like it. I got a feeling this free offline version they're is better than DA2. Can't wait really, since it's turn-based and all lol.
I saw this, too. Pretty typical move on EA's part, they've shut down online components for quite a few games in the past. I doubt this one will make as much of a splash. Would love to hear from someone who plays it what they think of this, though.

I only ever played the original (non-Facebook) version of the game back when DA came out, but I did enjoy it as a way to get extra in game items (much more fun than having to buy something else or purchase at a specific store).

As the RPS article points out I think that it is a positive move that EA is taking in releasing it for free in a single player, offline format. And while it is unfortunate that they are shutting down the servers, so you can't play with friends (or whatever it is your do online), them taking the time to actually port it and "save" it is really nice. And not something I would associate with EA necessarily.

But yeah, I might try it once it is downloadable because the earlier version was interesting and I do like the DA lore, so it might be a good little game to play.
Played it only to unlock items in DA2 as majority of players.

No wonder they are pulling the plug for this crap.
I wonder how this will affect the Facebook stocks....
Not surprised, it was a F2P game and a F2P games primary purpose is to make money in micro-transactions, it wasn't generating enough revenue to justify keeping it up so time for the axe.

They are releasing a downloadable single player version of the game though so it can still be played after the online component goes down.
Dragon Age Legends has a legendary fantastic storyline. More than a decade ago, the respected great ruler Khedra was enchanted by a mighty demon and changed his behavior.

I bought DAO in the Steam Christmas sale and was going to play journeys while i waited for it to download until I found out that they stopped giving out those items over two years ago. Gah I hate online components...
