I initially wrote this off as an April Fool's gag, but seeing as the ScummVM team has already scribbled out the actual gag (achievements in ScummVM) and left the Snowden article intact, I'm beginning to wonder if I pegged the wrong news as being an April 1st joke.

I would have thought achievements would have been more likely than Edward Snowden joining a major open source gaming project.
