What with Skyrim on the distant horizon and all, I've just wanted to here some of the great moments you've all had throughout the Elder Scrolls series.
Modding Oblivion so much that it wasn't an Elder Scrolls game anymore. WIN!
Morrowind: Uninstalling it. Good world but god that combat is impossible to look past, and I love Gothic 2 -.-.

Oblivion: Installing Nehrim and a bunch of other mods to make the game actually good. Not an RPG but still had good times with it.

Mostly I liked how the game got the feel of a mage down right when modded. The main issue with playing a mage is having to rest after EVERY fight or chug potions to keep mana up. Mods balance the magic so its powerful enough to be used in encounters but not overpowered because Magicka regenerates so quickly.

You are dead to me.
When my buddy gifted me Morrowind and Oblivion for Christmas present, I was truly in heaven.
Most memorable Elder Scrolls moments?

When I finally got a computer that could run Oblivion, started it up, and BOOM. That opening...

Wow.

Seriously, I know a lot of people prefer Morrowind over Oblivion, and I can understand why in a lot of ways, but for me, Oblivion has the better gameplay even if the world isn't as engaging. Sure, when I play it I long for the sheer size of Morrowind, but after playing Oblivion I find it hard to go back, and I was never able to get Morroblivion to work right, which was sad, because I would have loved to have been able to explore both worlds with Oblivion's graphics engine.
Oblivion: Playing a bit with a friend who owned the game, completing the opening bit, going to a city, and punching a guy I swore was a pervert until I got arrested.

Morrowind: Not reinstalling it after my computer had to be formatted.
Killing Vivec and trapping his soul in Azura's Star. Nothing much like walking around with the soul of a god in your pocket.
Exploring Vivec City for the first time. I was so lost in the game that when an Ordinator called me "Scum", I drew my weapon. I forgot that it was just a game, and reacted like I was really there. Something like that had never happened to me before. It was most excellent.

I get that a lot for my opinion on Morrowind. If they could fix the combat it would be a good game but as of now its unplayable for me.
I burned myself out of the elder scrolls series with Arena and Daggerfall. The new one I might try though

The combat's just one of the problems I have with it. :/

I couldn't stand the graphics. I have no problem with C64 games regarding graphics but Morrowind was just ugly.

The combat does not need fixing. You might not like it, but it works as intended. It's meant to be more about stats and character building than reflexes, which is more of a core RPG design.
