Bought Altered Beast on GG. Very pleased. Love the TV filter...really takes me back to the 90s. :)

mogamer: The Genesis collection available on the Xbox 360 and PS3 has all of those games on it. And it's much cheaper than buying them on Steam.

Not here it isn't. And if it were, it would be twice the price and in Japanese only.

evilguy12: I thought it only was legal if you made the ROM yourself.

I'm not sure with that Fair Use laws. I'm from Germany.

taczillabr: direct2drive added sega games just now, for $2.95, not $2.99. With a drm-free logo and worldwide...

Thanks taczillabr for letting us know! Love classics, especialy when combined with DRM-free logo therefore steam is a no no for oldies. Already got AlteredBeast from D2D and it really is not protection-crippled. If only GOG got these on their site. Does anyone know why each of these is 15MB huge??? The original SEGA emu itself (gorgeous BTW) is about 2MB and the game ROM...come on 400kb or something. The size of the installer is a mystery to me.

From what I know the games are now available on 3 sites: Steam, D2D, Gamersgate.
On steam they are a download of like 50MB from what I've read, but I didn't bought any yet... I will wait for a sale of that pack with all the games, $35 is asking too much for it...
If you have a PS3 or a X360, I would recommend you this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic%27s_Ultimate_Genesis_Collection
This makes me so happy: http://blogs.sega.com/usa/2009/02/09/shining-force-i-ii-the-legacy-of-tactical-awesomeness/
Second installment is incoming.
Both the 1st and 2nd are already being sold in bundles, for $14.95, somewhere. ;)
They're also sold separately. From as little as $1.99. Picked up Columns already. Now just need the Streets of Rage series.
Yeah they're on GamersGate. Sega lowered the price. :)
Everyone should get Ristar.
Still no ToeJam & Earl. Hell, I'd love to see some of those old Koei games, too. :)
