Just in case some of you want a lot of money and EASY in the beginning, i just found out a glitch in the game. In the ROCKHAMMER village, accept the quest MORWEN gives you to clean the mines of roaches. Go in the ROCKHAMMER mine and find LOGI MOOREDUX, a dwarf who has a scorpion problem. Agree to help him. Kill all the scorpions and then go back to him for your reward. As you will see, the dialogue 'THE TUNNELS ARE DEVOID OF SCORPION ACTIVITY' will remain there even after you have talked to him. Pressing it each time, will get you 300 gold every time :)

Do you have any tricks on getting the price of the game down? :P

Wait for next weekend for 70% Promo then go to the GOG game card page,
Check if there is another glitch which change the game regional pricing to from USD (US) to a smaller JPY (Japan) or RMB (China)?

Well, unless someone's idea of fun is being able to afford to buy whatever they want in the game. It wouldn't be *that* unbalancing, really. Chances are fairly slim of getting more than one or two really nice items in a shop in a playthrough.

But, and of course YMMV, I found Book 3 to be very unsatisfying compared to Book 2. Basilisk took half the fun out for me, alas :P

Since Eschalon is still "brand new" its quite naive to wait for discount right now...

I know. Me too. In truth i would not expect discounts on Eschalon 3 for, say, half of year.

I've got time. I still haven't gotten all the way through book 2. I keep losing interest halfway through.

I not finished E2 too, kind of lost willpower to continue before dwarf dungeon...But it was because lazy me. Game as is is perfectly keep interest to play more.
