I believe Gamersgate sell it as well and it's been pretty cheap before.

Oh thank you.

I just found out something from steam that has left a foul taste in my mouth as well, not happy

keeveek: AFAIK Fallout: NV is not giftable between regions.
avatar
Mohdar: Anyone can confirm this? I ask because i'm willing to trade 5.99$ GOG game for New Vegas.
My F:NV was gifted to me from Steam Uk (paid in GBP) back in summer. And today I could buy the DLC from Germany
Thanks to everyone offering this, very nice of you :)
For anyone living in Germany, there is another benefit to foreign versions of certain games: circumventing the dreaded "German low violence version only available with German language" (absolute no-go in Fallout3/NV, for example)
I'm rather picky about new purchases because of more than sufficient backlog (which seems to be a common phenomenon ever since there are steam/gog/HIB/... sales), but will gladly seek help if necessary.

Can confirm this to work - I've gotten it that way.

Pemptus: So hey, a very basic question: is it forbidden to buy games yourself after fiddling with the region (by vpn, address bar shananigans or whatnot)? Eg. New Vegas costs 4,99 Euros here, and 4,99$ in the US. Can I get banned or something if I try to, uh, get some pricing justice? Have there been cases of users being punished in any way for such things?
avatar
Cleidophoros: Yes, you will get banned.

I have never heard of this happen before.

Anyway, I'm in Mexico but buy at US prices. If your country supports PayPal gifted payments, I can help.

Allright suspended or the game removed from your account. Still if they think you don't follow their subscriber agreement you might get in more trouble.

I just did a quick search over at Steam forums and it seems either the game is removed or account suspended/banned if Valve catches you buying stuff through vpn.

Well, again, I'd never heard of them removing games bought via VPNs. However, I do know that they remove games redeemed in the wrong region - like Russian / Asian keys on US accounts. So you may as well be right. Please do not take offense at my questions, I wanted to know if it was a rumor or real. Thank you for answering.

Shameless bump.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Steam should cost 249 Rubles right now, or some $8. Anyone knows if it can be gifted to other regions? Any Russians willing to trade?

EDIT: Actually, ignore that; the savings are not worth the potential trouble. I'll buy it from GG for $25 instead.

Hey,

Im looking for a russian to help me out.
I would like to have Deux Ex HR as a tradeable item.
Its 249 RUB, and I currently have €4,98 = $6,24 in my paypal balance. (I know its not enough, but thats all I have. I might get my dad to gift me some money on PP)

So please let me know if you can help me out!
A plea for help in the fight against the unjust pricing laws was here, but it's been answered. Thanks a bunch Cleidophoros!

Just be warned that it might be a Russian-language-only, localised version - much like getting lumbered with a low violence German version.
