ah, of course. But it's not really about luck: if you get to the point where you are even able to afford such a luxury ship (unless, of course, you just made lots of isk by reselling time cards you bought with real money), you will have learned (or should have at least) that you must never fly a ship you can't afford to lose.

It's not really about luck: if you bring a ship, any ship, through low sec, you know you risk losing it (and getting podded too). You might be slightly safer if you scout ahead with a fast frigate, but even then it's not foolproof.

This game can be extremely merciless, but losing a ship is almost never about luck, unless we count external factors (ie dead internet, os crash, terrorist storming your house, etc), and even then you should refer to the above-mentioned rule.
