This is an interesting new game I am enjoying right now.
The premise is as follows - you are a volunteer rover pilot remote rover on a newly discovered planet. You job is to explore a certain island of it and tag interesting parts for research. Sounds maybe a bit boring, but I find it engulfing. Attached is a picture I took earlier this evening, and the plants on it now being analysed
Now, one thing is that this is going in real time, so if you can imagine the speed of the mars rovers... my rover is moving slowly into position down the ridge and the next picture will be taken in 2 1/2 hour, with the subsequent one in 6 hours.
The game is completely browser based, and it includes things blog posts by the researches being written about the discoveries you make.
This is much more interesting than I make it sound like, and it is still in the beta stages. If you want to try to be a beta rover pilot, you can check it out here - https://extrasolar.com/. The only thing required is a valid email address.
