Dear fellow gog'ers

For some reason i have an urge to play Fable the lost chapters on my pc. I do not have the game yet. I heard some time ago that it is unplayable on vista so i didn't buy it back then. After some google'n i read some rumor about a vista update so that fable runs without a problem on vista.

Does anyone of you know if fable works on vista now or a way to make it work? It would be a waste of my 10 euro otherwise. I have never played the game, so maybe you guys could even tell me if it's worth it??
Played it on my Notebook end of last year on Windows 7. No Problems at all.

Adding: there is a interesting thread on the lionshead forum:

Yeah, no issues on Vista last time I played it. Haven't tried it on Win7 but I am sure it is fine.

99 times out of 100 when someone says "X games does not work on X OS!" they are talking out of their ass.
okay that topic did take away some of my worries. Is it still worth playing though because i have a huge backlog of games and just adding one on an urge might not be a good idea if it's not worth my time
Played on XP, Vista and Windows 7. No problems with either 32-bit or 64-bit OS.

If it runs on Vista (I don't know, I've never had that OS) then it is well worth it. The game has lots of strong points, such as the well-made (albeit a bit small /at least for my tastes/) world, the original but intuitive character development system, seamless gameplay or a nice amount of humor, among other things.
I have it on 7 64 bit. Works like a dream and is pretty fun.
I think this all answers my questions. Thanks alot!!!
Well, I'm going to break the chain of those saying it works like a charm, as it doesn't work at all for me on Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate. All I get is a white screen and then it locks up completely.

Runs fine on XP though.

That's unfortunate but hopefully not a problem for me because i neither have win7 nor a 64bit edition.
I have the CD version and it runs perfect on my shity vista laptop and my new Windows 7 PC. Crack is helpful for non cd users as well.
I love the game, and it's a great PC version.

Only real complaint is the same with all Fable games...far too easy, especially since you can just spam the Inferno spell (I think that's what it's called) like crazy. But eh, the upsides far outweigh the downsides.

Fable 3 is coming soon also. If you're interested in that, now's a good time to play the first one.

Not to hijack this thread or anything, but is there a legal way to buy a digitally distributed copy of Fable: TLC? I had it for my Xbox and never got to finish it.
