JudasIscariot: I tried it out myself and it looks good so far. I just hope that some of the issues I had with it won't make it into the final game :D. Most of the issues were basically minor gameplay issues, nothing glaring.

Aningan: So... ask for a release here on GOG? :)
My answer
I PMed Styg yesterday, and he's considering bringing this to GOG when the game is completed, so there's something to keep an eye out on.

In other news, the alpha is out on Gamersgate:

I second getting it here
think ill try the demo of this, might buy it when it hits Beta. Kenshi is still unplayable and i was dumb enough to buy that in an alpha

edit: Played the demo for a few mins, it certainly has potential

i support having this game on GOG as well
Perfect timing, just finished the Driftmoon demo, cheers :)
I like this, whats Desura like DRM wise, Can I play the game on a couple of PC's?

Any idea when the full release will be available (the completed game, not just alpha).

Cheers :)

Most of the games on Desura are DRM free AFAIK. I've only tried it for a couple of indie games, though, so maybe I'm wrong.

Well, the alpha just got released so there's no real way to know when the full game will be. Some indies only take a few months between alpha and release, while some take years (yes, I'm looking at you, Kenshi and Age of Decadence).

Hi,

I'm the developer of Underrail. I estimate that the game will be done sometime in the second half of 2013.

Btw, you have a stand-alone installer of the game available on Desura once you purchase. You can also buy on GamersGate if you prefer that.

The game itself has no DRM.

Cheers.
Thats great, thanks for the replies :)
I'm playing the demo (finally) and so far it is fun. But I have a question.
Can you use psi abilities in the demo? So far I've meet the trainers but just want to know.

You can. You've got to speak with the doctor on the medical level first. After that you can learn from the trainers.

grviper: They are inspired by "Fallout, Arcanum, Neverwinter Nights and System Shock 2"

lowyhong: Probably referring to the rules used in the game.
Or it's just a major case of name dropping to get attention. These games are as different from each other in terms of rules and setting as they can be within the RPG class.

"...oh yes, we are inspired by about every great RPG. An while we're at it, of course we are also inspired by Half Life, Portal, Civilization, Diablo, Starcraft and The Sims" :-)

But while the name dropping appears a bit dubious to me, the game still could be interesting.

Nobody said anything about them being similar or different.
