I'm not sure being so cover centric is very good for a first person game. The entire first and second level were just me popping my head up just to see if the enemy was still around. Ducking back down, then popping up to finally shoot them. It's an awkward combination of peek-a-boo and whack-a-mole.
I guess I know why it's more popular in third person games.
That said, Fettel probably mixes that up a lot in co-op. I can see his presence really throwing enemy cover for a loop. I mean, his abilities can basically pull them out of cover entirely.
Anyway, I've got a friend who wants to do some co-op. And he knows and accepts that I want to play as Fettel. We just need to get some scheduling coincided. Then I'll be able to render a full opinion.
Druidshinobi: Hmm doesn't sound too bad then, only thing that creeps me out is the Girl which is probably the reason i avoided it. If it's not as in-your-face as dead space i can probably play it without too much problems then, thanks.
Btw is Fear 2 as 'scary' as one or is it more toned down?
I find FEAR 2 to be the scarier of the first two games. For one reason: abominations. They're both more about being action games than horror. The horror is mostly window dressing. There's only one supernatural threat in FEAR 1 and it's some ghosts that die in one hit each. They're back in FEAR 2, but FEAR 2 also has those abominations.
But, that said, it's almost entirely gunfights against soldiers. 9/10ths of both games.
