I know final fantasy 7 and 8 were made/released for pc.. do you think there is any chance we'll ever see those 2 games on gog?
You best be hoping one of the publishers GOG is attempting to sign is Square Enix.
Welcome to the forums wapax.

FF7&8 are on my wanted list but considering the price they command in online stores I find it doubtful GOG will get them even at the high rate,

I thought the PC ports of those were a bit dodgy?

Probably easier and cheaper to buy the PSX versions, rip the disc images, and emulate them.

PSX versions typically sell for more than the PC versions.
Or you could buy a used PSX and get the PSX versions. You can usually find working PS1s on ebay for $15 to $20.

And the PC ports (at least the FFVII one) were great, it just takes a bit of work to get them working on modern hardware/OS.

The PC ports have a good modding community behind it, there are various mods and fan patches that improve the game significantly.

Really, huh. FF7/8 PSX discs used to be a dime a dozen, what with all the reissues, and the PC ports were a lot more uncommon since they didn't sell terribly well.
My PC versions of FF7+8 cost me as much 2nd has as they would have done new.

While they were worth it, getting the PS ones would have been better I think.

PS emulation is pretty good now, and I always like the ability to save anywhere...

I think the PC port of FFVII was terrible because of the music quality, which severely lacked compared to the PS1 version.

When I want to replay these games I use an emulator and the PS1 versions.
Or alternately _IF_ you have a PS3 or a PSP 7,8 and 9 are available on the Playstation Store... I think around $15 each from memory. Either way, much cheaper than what I have seen the disks on eBay for.

they were actually published by Eidos on the PC....
It could be possible I suppose if GOG brings in SE as one of the publishers.

I hear the PC ports aren't so great though.
