(Remember, GOG only sell games that are available worldwide)

Blaze72: I notice Final Fantasy 7 is now on Steam

any possibility of it appearing on GOG??
I doubt it, as it has fairly hefty DRM & cloud saving.

But GOG don't technically well "worldwide" do they? I thought they just sold in US dollars as a way around it

They do that because they believe in one price for all - having local currencies makes that impossible due to exchange rates, etc. The only exception to that was Witcher 2 due to legal reasons.

Now now, there are mods for that. :P
I'd buy them. Maybe, with a few questions (like, would the later ones run on my shitty laptop?), but I'd definitely buy them. As of now, from the main series I've only played I, II, III, IV, and VI. So basically, I have a lot of catching up to do. Also, since GOG adds extras to its purchases, maybe soundtracks would be added? I'd buy IV and VI again just for the soundtracks <3

Well, it was always a bit of a plot-hole that they didn't just resurrect her with a phoenix feather

Yeah, take it as a cutscene power for Sephiroth, but the reason in-game is because Phoenix Downs are basically smelling salts, they 'revive' you if you're knocked unconscious, not if you're straight up dead.

Thankfully though, there are mods (that work with the new re-release as well as the original PC version) that allow you to keep her in the party after the event. She'll even show up in those little scenes where the whole group is together, but she won't say a word or be acknowledged in any way. Admittedly, this is only from what I've read about it, I haven't used that particular mod yet.
it was available on Brazil an hour ago now it says that it's not available anymore?WTF,I was going to buy it on my vacations.nowI really want GOG to make ir available for me
[EDIT]now it's available again,the hell?

I often find I'm the only one in the room that actually liked FF13 :(

I thought characters "killed" in combat were actually knocked out?

13 wasn't a bad game. It was just different, just as every single Final Fantasy title was before it. Final Fantasy's either make trends, or follow current popular trends. In 13's case, it was sort of following the linear approach but at the same time it was mixed with a somewhat-open-world when you were able to roam the plains and areas later in the game, It actually felt very short, but the graphics and sound design were amazing, but the game mechanics through some people for a loop. The music itself too was a BIG departure from traditional Final Fantasy titles. I think though that due to the negative feedback the next game will be stellar. It's supposed to be very open world oriented and have cities in scope of Assassins Creed titles. I can't wait to check it out.
So if i would want to start with FF from scratch, where should I start? was there a reboot at any point?

Wherever you want to start. They're not really related to each other, with some exceptions like FFX and FFX-2. Personally I'd go with FF6, but I'm biased.

There's nothing you need to know from one game or another. Every one of them (except the actual sequels like X-2, XIII-2, and the upcoming XIII-3) are separate from one another, each of them have different worlds and characters in them (even though a few names are reused in a few of the games). You can pretty much pick up VI, VIII, IV, or even XII and you wouldn't have trouble knowing what's going on since they're not connected (except maybe for the Fabula Nova Crystallis part of the series in a way).

As far as reboots, there are remakes and ports for a lot of the older games in the series. I, II, III, and IV were remade and ported (from my understanding) for other systems.

In a way I liked it as well (guilty pleasure), but as far as Final Fantasies go it really is the weakest in the series.
