Lou: However we must make note of Some Great Canadian Musicians - BTO, Rush, Triumph

Kabuto: We gave you a bit more than that such as Nelly Furtado and Our Lady Peace. To a lesser degree, Avril Lavigne as well.
If you want to go more classic rock, Neil Young is Canadian.
easter egg from Google to civilized people. Thanks

hedwards: It's not jealousy so much as getting sick and tired of hearing about that hack. He's only famous because there's a huge marketing machine behind him. I'd be a lot less sickened by him if he actually had to pay his dues and develop some sort of craft.

As it is he's Canadian and arguably more annoying than the other annoying export that is Celine Dion.
That's the biggest contradiction that I have heard in awhile. "I get sick & tired hearing about the hack.... oh a thread about him.... let's click it to talk about how sick I am of him". Once again I must stress that I am not a fan of his music, but I do realise that If I had a chance to be in his position that I would take it in a heart beat. As would you whether you'll admit it or not. So yes, it is at least partially inspired by jealousy. Paying dues & perfecting your craft has nothing to do with it.... if you are talented (which he is, like it or not) & are capable of making something that people will enjoy then you deserve the fame & chances that you get. Do you honestly realize how many bands get signed after playing together for maybe only a few years & then have a single on one of there first two albums that send them into skyrocket? I would be willing to bet you that bands that you listen to even fit that bill... so I hate to say that I respectfully disagree with your points there.

As for your taste's.... there is no such thing as bad music... just bad listeners. Something you may despise may be loved by others & something you may love may be despised by others.... That doesn't mean that either of you are wrong in liking the music you do & that the music they listen to is made by a 'hack'... it just means that it is not to your liking. So why bitch & bitch & bitch about how bad it sucks? Just let people enjoy what they enjoy & be done with it instead of trying to make them feel bad because you can't seem to understand it.

cw8: Saw this in a comment in Youtube (Justin Bieber seems to pop up in the comments in every music video I go to ), so I went to try it out, it's pretty funny:

1) Go to Google Translate

2) Type in "Will Justin Bieber ever hit puberty" then...

3) English to Vietnamese

4) Copy & paste the Vietnamese words

5) Vietnamese to English
lol fantastic :)

Dude, you still don't get that some here talking smack about Beiber are just joking? Some people just "hate" on Beiber because it's funny, not because we truly hate him or his music...well SOME hate his music but because it's not their taste in music, not because they hate HIM perse. Ok, i'm done....have fun y'all.

I haven't seen this much bullshit since the last time I went to the state fair.

So, in other words you have no idea what you're talking about, but admit that you have no actual integrity, that's nice, thanks for sharing.

Of course there's such a thing as bad music, if you believe otherwise then you haven't any meaningful exposure. There's plenty of music out there that's genuinely bad.

Plus, this is a thread for bitching about him, if you don't like that then why the hell did you come in here?

Would you mind giving a rigorous, objective, testable definition of "bad music"?

Because he likes bitching about you bitching about Bieber?

I mean, that's the sole reason I posted this, to bitch about him bitching about you bitching about Bieber.

Regarding Bieber, I have no real opinion as I have heard no more than a few seconds of his music. From what I remember however, I much prefer Hammerfall, Judas priest, Apollo 440, and Astral Projection.

Did you actually read my post? No... I didn't think so.

Actually no there isn't... Mike Patton would be a perfect example. Some would say that he has absolutely no talent whatsoever... some would say that he should stop making that "bullshit" that he calls music. Others (myself included) think that he is a musical genius. It is all about taste. Let's say for a minute that you were right though & that there is good and bad music & musicians. I would seriously hesitate to call something that has only 1 album... an album that sold over 1 million albums alone... Bad Music. It is just something you don't happen to be a fan of.

It may have been funny the first few times, but any joke gets old after awhile & this one is not only old... it is decomposing.

I would love to hear his definition as well... bet he can't give one.

:p
Hating on Justin is just getting old, because now it's the "cool" thing to do apparently. If people would just ignore him maybe he would "go away." IE, "I find him lacking in talent" + shut up and go listen to Nickelback.
I would assume whether or not "bad music" exists is something that can be based only on one's own opinion. Maybe I'm just a music snob, but i feel like 98% of all music i hear today sucks balls.
For me, bad music is music that i find boring, most likely because it uses one of the 4-5 chord progressions that almost all pop music is based off of today. I find people like Bieber and Gaga annoying because their music is boring/ annoying, yet everybody loves them and it's all you hear about in the media. I feel bad for all the artists out there with the real talent who aren't as successful as they should be simply because the masses like their music to be dumbed down as much as possible.

To RobertTitus: You need to try smoking a blunt or something.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: There are way WAY worse "artists" on the radio than Justin Beiber, many of which are far more deserving of contempt. Hating on Justin Beiber seems like hating on Barney and Friends or Dora the Explorer--it's the sort of thing that 11 and 12 year olds do to mask their own insecurities. I like to think that adults are above targeting a piece of children's entertainment as a target for their angst. But then again these are the same "adults" who have made Katie Perry, Usher, Bruno Mars, and The Black Eyed Peas into what they are today, so I guess it's a little much to expect maturity :P.
Pure genius.
Metal Machine Music is much better in 'artistic' way than all these stuff that you could find on tv.
