I can't seem to find a function that would allow me to ignore a specific user. For various reasons, there are one or two constant posters that would make this site much more enjoyable if I never saw what they contributed. It seems like down-voting a post only hides that specific post from me.

Am I missing something, or does this feature not exist with this forum?

Thanks for any help.
It's a feature I've wanted in the past as well. I'm not sure why they don't implement it.
Thanks for this, I was going to add the suggestion if the feature didn't exist (and the suggestion wasn't already there). Voted.
Fantastic idea.
Now come on, even though [removed by mod] and [removed by mod] might be sometimes a pita, they are all part of the family. And don't forget when [removed by mod] had intercourse with that goat ...
Seeing how little spammers and troll are in this community, seeing how practicaly every member is of a certain age, mature and helpful, seeing as i've never had any problem whatsoever with a member, and usually if someone is disrespectful here, he apologize as soon as he realized it.

Don't you think you're just being a little demanding ?
There are more important features than "Ignore this dude coz he makes fun of me or asks me to give him a free game :( ".

Considering the status of the users here, and the topics that are created, I don't really see the use of such a thing. There are more important features missing, like seeing a member's already owned games for instance.
So features that could end up dividing members just for the sheer of wanting to ignore someone of have the option to do it, no thank you. We're a single family, and there's no place for such a thing.

Furthermore it would result in similar posts/ useless posts, for instance if the person whom you ignored has added a comment, or given an answer you can't read coz you ignored him... and you post the same thing. It's stupid and it's gonna create tension. I'm against the whole idea.

Are you for real?
This is an internet forum with a large user base, growing every day. Idiots or obnoxious people are very often a part of such communities. The "ignore" or "block" functions are a standard feature of most forum systems, and for good reason.

Also, we're not a family, really.

I see no issue with a feature like this. There are a couple members that I ignore here already simply by skipping their posts/threads when I see it's them posting, but it might be nice to have a feature where I wouldn't even have to see their posts/threads automatically.
It would be handy to have a feature for this for the occasional person who posts spam or s abusive.

Please do show me an Idiot post/troll/publicity from let's say 1-4 hours ago ? If you can find one on this forum, it proves that there is indeed need for such a feature ...and you're not just craving the power to ignore this and that person.

I rarely see any useless post on the forum, and I come here everyday ... So I must have useless post proof vision, hey :P ?
No but really, why complicate things for now. And sadly for you, yes, i'm for real.
I've been on my share of forums, i've seen my share of spammers and trolls... and guess what, they're active like every 30 minutes or such. Not nearly the case here !
The reason I wanted the feature was because after the GOG relaunch, there was one particular user who complained loudly and poorly in every annoucement thread and basically any thread that had anything to do with GOG. It wasn't that I wanted to set ignore because I disagreed with him, but because I was just tired of reading the same complaints over and over again. Granted, I haven't seen him post at all lately.

I agree that the large majority of forum members are fine and the feature, if implemented, would be used extremely infrequently by me.

You DO know that this function causes the posts of the ignored user to be invisible only to the one who actually pressed "ignore" and not to everyone, right? I'm not sure how that would concern you, as you're free to continue viewing whatever you want, and the ignored user wouldn't even know that anything happened.

It's not complicating things, it's adding standard forum features, finally. Jeez.
I don't know why you're considering that I'm a fool just because i'm stating my opinion.
Consider for instance that SimonG hosts a giveaway, and he ignored somebody just coz he doesn't like him (Just an example... not that SimonG is gonna ignore someone just for this),
he post a quizz, and the person ignored participate in the giveaway... Well bad luck for him.. SimonG can't see his post so he is automatically discarded.

Same thing apply to nearly everything in the forum... SimonG asks a question, the ignored user has the answer.. SimonG can't read it.
Suppose somebody ignored my good friend Gameon, I'd ignore this person just coz he ignored my good friend, etc..., it'll create division and friction between members.

Furthermore, somebody who posted a stupid comment once, might very well post interesting comments next time, so why ignore him ?
If somebody has a kid, and the kid likes to spam on his father's forum... well, the father doesn't have time to explain before he is ignored by the majority of users.

There's like a Billion reason this feature could create problems.

Ask yourself how many time did you wanna make a joke and right some silly comment on your brother's facebook account, passing as him. Well people might do this on forums also.
1. No, we are not a family. While I consider some users to be really nice and if I'd meet them in real life I'd probably end up considering them friends, it's a long way to calling them family.

2. It's a standard feature on most forums and seeing how pressing minus hides posts I don't think it's such a stretch to implement an actual ignore button to do basically that. Then people won't complain about being down voted.
I didn't notice this feature in the wishlist before. I've voted for it now, and I'd vote a hundred more times if voting worked that way.

There are SO many users I would love to ignore. I can name off at least twenty people who make so much as glancing on this forum hell, much less actually participating. Unfortunately, several of them have high levels of reputation points and the unwarranted self-importance that often accompanies that, so simply pretending they aren't there is about as easy as reading the comments of a Gamespot article without seeing the endless commentary from Gelugon_baat.

I've taken to simply downvoting their posts on sight so that I don't have to see them, but a proper ignore feature would be so much better.
