Maybe someone will create a game where some characters have split personalities - then multiple players could share one in-game character.

I think split personalities would be hilarious.

It can sure make things interesting. Did a murder mystery party with some friends years ago where we had one too many people for the characters, so we did a split personality the other way had two people 'be' the same character just taking turns doing our scripts and interacting with other people. It was pretty hilarious.

I saw such game somewhere before but I don't recall much details. I think they created new shared accounts and 2 people got access to it and could post whenever they wanted. IIRC, they even could have different alignment.

Recently on MTGS, there was something bit similar, in Hobbit mafia. One role was played by 2 players but only one of them was allowed to post in game thread other was only allowed to share his thoughts with the other player and he posted them for him.

Eager beaver that I am, I'll point out that this game is notably simpler in mechanics than the previous ones and only has 9 players to cope with. That said, yes, as a rule forum mafia on GOG tends to run long.
