anyone keeping an eye on is? sounds sorta borderlands crossed with fallout and Battlefield

Sounds cool. I used to keep up on alot of new games but there's so many releases nowadays it's hard to keep up...same with music(bands/songs) and other stuff like tv shows. If a show seems cool and I catch it i'll try to google the rest of it if there's more, same with a catchy song I hear on the radio.

I'm not expecting too much from it. It's Id Software's new engine correct? I expect it to be a great engine, but the game itself will probably be lacking. Even though I love the idea/concept behind the game.

I think ill get the game but like you have reservations of the gameplay quality

Just looked some gameplay video of that game. It really does look a lot like fallout 3. No opinion. Could be good. It will be released in months to come so we will see. But better that than another call of duty. A bit sick of those things (and the like) pouring everywhere.
I have high hopes for Deus Ex.
I think (now I'm pretty off-topic) that the pre-ordering thing is.. Well.. They put games for pre-ordering even if the game comes in a little under a year. That's a bit weird. There's mass effect 3 pre-order and it will be released what, next year quarter 1. Just saying.
Those people are patient beings.

At least on the version they played : the multiplayer is average at best (which surprised them with the game being an Id one), but the solo part is fun and graphically it looks great (at least on PC). But apparently the "freedom" in the game is pure illusion, it's a very linear shooter with lots of invisible walls to make sure you won't go where you are not supposed to. (But maybe it was only the version they played.)

I keep an eye on it and will probably get it with it being an Id game but I am not overly "hyped" about it.
