First of all I'd like to congratulate everyone who helped to recreate or emulate classic old games.

I've already tried Megarace 2, Outcast and Heroes of Might and Magic 1. They are some of my favorite games ever.

A question however. Is GoG.com gonna recreate/emulate games as

Bioforge
Final fantasy VII
Atlantis : The Lost Tales
Crusader No Remorse
Crusader No Regret
Loadstar : Legend of Tully Bodine
Creature Shock
Toonstruck
Starshot : Space Circus Fever
Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds
Fade to Black
Cadillacs & Dinosaurs : The second Cataclysm
Dune
Lost Eden
Stargunner
Rebel Assault II The hidden Empire
One Must Fall 2097
Little Big Adventure 2
Wing Commander III
Wing Commander IV
Alien Trilogy
Time Commando
Z
Psycho Pinball
Big Red racing
Star Trek TNG - A Final Unity
Star Wars : Dark Forces
Star Wars : Dark Forces II Jedi Knight
Darklight Conflict
Deadly Tide

and when will that be?
I'd love to have these game to my collection as a remembrance of good old days.

Yes, no, maybe.

A handful of those are EA and LucasArts titles, GOG doesn't yet have them signed.
Any idea if one or more of them are about to be released?

Some of those game are from companies that are now closed.

Starshot was from Infogrames, the same company that made Outcast which is already out.
Incoming was from Rage, as well as War of the Worlds

What about these companies?

Cryo (Atlantis the lost Tales, Dune, Lost Eden)
Origin (Crusader series and Wing Commander series)
and less known companies

(...)Origin(...)
GoG (unfortunately) doesn't reveal the current status on negotiations with various publishers, so there is no hint as to if and when a certain game would arrive here.
As for some of the titles/companies you listed (like Origin), they are with Electronic Arts now.

Edit: Seems I was too slow ;)
For a bit more insight on the 'EA troubles', see this posting even containing a pledge to EA on their own forum.

GameRager: Origin is owned by EA, and EA refuse to partner with GOG for various reasons so they are probably not likely for awhile.
You don't know that. No one knows other than GOG staff how open EA is to being here.
What about Cryo?

GoG already released some games from Rage and Infogrames. Any hint about them?
If I'm correct Infogrames is sold to Ubisoft and GoG has some Ubisoft games too.

Maybe it's easier to obtain titles like Silver or Starshot.

GameRager: All I know is that if GOG ever gets the System Shock/etc Origin titles the universe will simultaneously implode and shit itself with glee.
Ah! Now I get it. That's why the world is to end December 2012. Suddenly it all makes sense ;)
Pity we won't be able to play the games after release on GoG.
avatar
GameRager: And you don't know that either,
I'm pretty sure it's a fact we don't know the status of EA and GOG's conversations and relationship, so actually I do know. You can know facts.
avatar
GameRager: but the fact is the Origin games are some of the most wanted here but are yet unobtainable on the site....thus making getting EA here in the immediate term not very likely.

Heck, it doesn't take insider knowledge to know that the sun is hot, snow is cold, and grass is green.
And you're making an assumption. They have talked about signing a big publisher a couple months ago, they have talked about signing another one just recently. Either could be EA, or maybe neither is. Maybe they have talked and maybe they haven't. Maybe EA have told them to go screw themselves and maybe they haven't. Who knows? No one, that's the point.
avatar
GameRager: 1. You can know facts about things you don't know about? Good one.
You can know that you don't know.
avatar
Miaghstir: StingingVelvet can know that he doesn't know.
avatar
GameRager: I never said I knew, now did I? I only said my two cents, based on past evidence.
Better that way?

Either way, I don't know whether or not I have any knowledge about this matter.

Jwrath: Z
Remake of Z is planned, it's called Z The Game

Meanwhile you can try The Zod Engine: http://zod.sourceforge.net/

What are the various reasons EA refuses to partner with GoG and what is your source?

GameRager: If you like the first System Shock, google System Shock Portable.
I'm more interested in the Ultima 1 through 7 series (working with Win 7 64), or the Wing Commander series (especially Privateer), given that my copies are on 3.5" disk and I don't have a drive for these any longer :(
