EDIT: To clarify, I'm referring to threads in the "game specific forums" - http://www.gog.com/forum. Like in Dungeon Keeper there are four stickied threads that people have found helpful. This thread is to find and report more threads like these that people will find helpful.

The long and short of it: I sometimes come across game forum threads that seem to have helped a lot of people and will probably help more in the future, but they could get lost amongst all the other threads in said game forum. So I PM Judas a link and ask him to consider stickying it, and he eventually responds to me with a reasonable answer.

But I'm just one man (not someone who necessarily "enjoys" visiting the game forums because, unfortunately, you can find a bit of negativity in there, similar to Steam), and obviously won't stumble across ALL game forum threads that might be worth a sticky.

The purpose of this thread to post game forum threads YOU think deserve "sticky" status (or, alternatively, to encourage you to message Judas with worthy threads, unless he doesn't want that). Post links here, and (hopefully) Judas will be willing to browse once in a while and might find something sticky-able.

Some criteria worth considering:

* Does the thread seem to have really useful or helpful info in the original post?

* Is the thread "rated high"/green?

* Are a lot of people posting saying, "Thank you OP! You saved me," or similar stuff?

We'll see what happens. If you think you'll find various useful links to post farther in the future, you might consider "favorite"-ing this thread for future use.

Your diary thread, for starters.
The free software list (thanks again a future pilot for your dedication:)
The 'what did just update' thread
and the gdfsgsdfhgsdfghsdgfh obviously.

Edit : and don't be modest, the diary-esque hunt for the lost rights should be stickied, as my predepostor rightfully said.

definitely this

not sure but the spreadsheet Jmich created listing all the Gog releases from day 1 by year etc might be a very useful sticky ( don't have the link on hand atm)

whoops I meant the what's update thread haha. replying on mobile atm
In fact I just checked back on the 'sticky compendium', and it already has a lot of important threads recorded (even the gdfsgsdfhgsdfghsdgfh in fact). The update thread however is really important, but I think it is mainly because the 'gog updates protocol' could really be improved ... for instance a complete changelog page (like the wishlist one in fact) would be welcome I think.
'What updated'

'Missing content and where to get it.'

'Mods and third party addons'

'Remakes of existing titles.'

Utilities like that.
I think tfishell meant threads related to specific games in their subforums. For example, the IWD Mod Guide & Install Order thread in the IWD subforum.

Yes I did. :)

But this does definitely deserve to be in the main forum compendium.

I wasn't able to play Red Faction without this community patch:

http://www.gog.com/forum/red_faction_series/red_faction_1_pure_faction_community_patch

I mentioned it should be stickied in the thread but doesn't hurt to post here.

I would add it should be technically correct. Not to mention current.

I was thinking of this one myself. Though it should be fixed before it's stickified. Maybe he hit the character limit?
I don't need stickies so much as a filter to distinguish gaming threads from non gaming threads e.g splitting general discussion into one for gaming and one for non-gaming (add one for giveaways too). I know it's a beat-on subject but it deserves to be mentioned once in a while. It's much easier to find an important thread or keep track of it then to "filter" out useless threads on your own.
