I understand why GoG would not want us to talk about games they don't sell(it would be bad for business), but still, i think they should make some exceptions for some games, cult games, or very popular games, or games not available on the PC. I'm thinking Diablo2, Battle for Wesnoth, Final Fantasy, Xenoblade Chronicles, Warcraft 3 etc. I think that if they make exceptions for the right games, it will be good for GoG in the long run, even if they don't sell those games. Would you agree?

And how exactly they stoped you do that?
No, this would be out of scope for GOG's forum. It would also be impossible to determine where to draw the line between non-GOG games that are allowed to get a forum, and those that aren't.

Nobody's stopping you from making a Diablo2 thread in the general forum, and more shouldn't be needed anyway. A subforum would only make sense if you want to have lots of threads about that game, and GOG simply isn't the place for that.

Well, i looked for them and didn't find them:) i figured they must not allow them.
Just create a topic in the General discussion forum (the one you just created topic in) about the game you want to talk about.

I see... I was thinking the mods can decide where to draw the line. And they could set limits, say only one new non-GoG game subforum a week or something. What you say makes sense, but i still think they should think about it.

There is no-subforum system in this forum :) Yet it will be nice to have forum separated in sub-forums ;)

Just make sure you use the RIGHT search button. The search bar that follows you around only searches the catalog. If you want to search the forum, you have to use the OTHER search button. Bajillions of people have been confused by that and ended up with no results.
But would any game not released on GOG really generate enough talk to warrant its own subforum? You would probably see a spike in activity in a Diablo-related sub-forum around the release of Diablo 3, but then chances are that the sub-forum would become a ghost town.
Don't agree. It'd be pointless for GOG and the game forums are somewhat deserted. The posts they get are usually problems with running the games and the few threads devoted to actually talking about the game can be posted as threads in the general forum.

Just start something in the general discussion if it does not exist already and there you go. These forums are very lightly moderated, so there is no need to wait for their approval, unless you want to offend someone, etc. Also as AFnord has already said, if they got their own subforums, they could be virtually dead most of the time.
GOG are pretty relaxed on the forums still. TET has been clamping down on swearing in titles and things that are of adult content but I do not remember ever any topic about a game not sold on GOG locked.

That said I cant see them adding a function for non GOG games so as said just use general topics

You're probably right...

Is that sex position thread still going strong? :-P

It is all good. Feel free to make a topic about a game that you're interested in discussing (just keep requests for games you want to see on GOG in the Wishlist area), as long as you don't overdo it (ie make 5 different topics in one hour; if it's too "slow" around here you may prefer a more "fast-paced" gaming forum, like the Escapist).
