My mothers favourite game (except Mario and Zelda on various handheld) is Pandora's Box.

Might require a short search on how to get now though, I think it came out in 1999. It is highly recommended, I played through it a few times myself.

I also would say some pinball-game.
Is Epic pinball freeware nowadays? I still have some bone to pick with that android table.
What was the point in super mario bros 1 with that score anyway.. did we get a life or something?
It's pretty sweet that some moms play games, mine doesn't even own a phone.

Kurina: In terms of match 3 games, my mother and aunt both absolutely love the Fishdom games. They are pretty relaxed and chillout games, and very easy to play in small bursts. Very recommended for match 3 stuff.

You can grab them at Big Fish Games, and while not free, I think they are running a $3 promo for new users. Really can't beat that.
My girlfriend plays these a lot too, so that's another recommendation.

Pro Pinball series. Get the Big Race USA. Although it's not the best in the franchise (Timeshock is better), but with it's charming visual, theme and presentation, your mom will say yes.

How about "Lucid" ? (one have to think though it is both a matter of strategy and luck) (not free though) :

Proun. Online scores so you can compete with the best worldwide. Pay what you want or a free version if you're a bit strapped.
