Greetings.
Looks like we're in a wave of Space Strategy Games at the moment. Anyone have any thoughts on this new one called Gemini Wars?
According to the pre-order page it have interesting features that I'll list below.
-3 different factions
-Epic 16 mission single player campaign
Yes! I like campaigns in this genre. Sort of like a very long tutorial. :)
-Control ships, space stations and planetary bases
-Research tree leading to powerful units and upgrades
-Cinematic battle camera
Oooh. Shiny!
-Unique gameplay providing a refreshing twist to the RTS genre
And what? What is the twist?
-Planetary colonization and invasion
Planetary invasion is always a welcome feature.
-Boarding actions
As are boardings. Aaaarrr!
-Multiple star system action
Eh? So? Why is this listed as a feature? Something special and new with it?
-CGI cinematics during the campaign
This could be bad. Really bad.
-Achievements
Meh.
-Over 1 hour of professional voice acting
I hope they are done by C actors and have a budget of 10$ per scene. Those are after all the most entertaining.
Edit: Should have said that it's advertised on the GameStop app today. That's how I found out about it.
