Sorry about the silly thread, but I've been wondering why so many people use the capitalization "GoG" instead of "GOG." Good old Games? Why? I've seen it so many times on these forums as well as on other websites like Joystiq, and I can't figure out the reason.
Because people do not know how acronyms work. It wasn't until the site relaunch in Sept. '10 that people started unnecessarily using a lowercase "o" in the acronym.

It's "GOG," people!

And that's how I vocally say it. We are the gawg dawgs.
gOg
Why not? It looks symmetic and capitalizes correctly first words and nouns while leaving verbs and adjectives with small letters, as the german grammer demands. So, it's the right way of writing GOG or gog in german. :)

I am pretty much fine with everything. Long live Gog, gOg, goG!
People are used to O in acronyms standing for "of", and so have a tenancy not to capitalise it even when it doesn't stand for a conjunction, like say, "old".

What can I say? People are stupid.

... Or they use it because it looks cool. GoG. Looks cool!

Now there was a king who kicked serious ass, as anybody who has read Eric Flint's Ring Of Fire series knows.
Personally, I try to type GOG, but often it just ends up as GoG and I don't even notice it. Maybe it's because I've typed CnC so very, very many times. I can change, baby... just gimme a chance

When people write Gog, my first thought is usually something entirely other than gog.com... (attached)

Not old enough games for some, i guess, hence the smaller emphasis on the "o". ;)
I don't care how you pronounce it (or write it) as long as you use it.

(quoted and slightly changed, from Linus Torvalds, I believe)
