The downloader keeps installing my games into my C drive, but I made a folder in my D drive and told it to install them there. The only things in that folder are the setup launcher's and various "BIN" files, but I don't know what those are.

I'm using version 3.3.5.0 of the downloader, which I'm pretty certain is the most recent version.

The downloader is just that, it downloads the game files to the directory you have specified. The files in the directory are the games installation files. Double click the main exe file to start installation. Some of the bigger games are broken down into smaller separate bits and named bin files.

You have to install the games after downloading them, they install in the same way as any other game asking where you want to install them.

So, looking at the image I have just uploaded, the directory I want stuff downloading to is at the top, the zipped files are the extras that come with Baldurs Gate 2. The main installer is the setup file and the 2 bin files are additional files for installation. I believe the file sizes are broken down in to bits is due to limitations of file size on 32bit operating systems

But it doesn't ask me where I want to install th- *checks again*

Oh, I have to click the options button before the install process and choose the install area separately. *sigh*

Wow, I wish I had been able to figure that out instead of going through this mess, lol.

Well anyway, do you recommend I create a different folder for the install's than the downloads?

Yes I would, quite a few of the GOG games can act up on Vista & 7 if you install to default program files location. The UAC tends to stop things from working in standard directory.

I would say something like D:\GOG\BG2 (For Baldurs Gate 2 for example)

This way you won't get things like readme files overwritten by different games.
Alright man, thanks a lot. You've saved my hard drive space. XD
