Just a thought as I've been installing games to a new PC and realised that Steam does something GOG should do that doesn't
On Steam you have a games list, it neatly shows all the games you've installed to the PC you're on. On GOG however you've got to check yourself when you're on the computer as to what is and isn't installed.
Now I'm NOT suggesting that GOG builds a setup like steam; that's a lot of work and might not be the best approach. What I was thinking though is if each game on the gameshelf had two icons under it; just two tickboxes. Users can then put a tick in the box if the game is installed on their computer; with the second box being for a second machine (ergo the typical desktop and laptop arrangement quite a few have).
Granted its manual but does mean that at a glance of the GOG shelf page we can tell what we have and haven't installed.
Taken further if hte website can have a limited form of system/browser detection the tickbox could be auto-ticked for that computer when the game is downloaded
