I disagree with that. Players aren't allowed to discuss the game outside of the game's thread and I think if you want to be a backup you unfortunately have to follow the game in isolation. Otherwise when you're drafted in you have, up until then, been discussing the game with other people, which is something you're not allowed to do.

Plus as soon as someone is drafted in you have to close the spoiler free thread and move it somewhere else otherwise the replacement would still have access to it.
