As our catalog gets bigger and better every week, it’s easy to lose track of some of the awesome games that we have to offer. Of course Fallout, Baldur’s Gate, and some other of our most popular titles will always get a lot of attention, but GOG has many more classics to bring you. To help encourage you to explore the dustier reaches of GOG’s catalog, we’re going to be offering a promo on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Think of it as a curated promo on some of GOG’s favorite titles that you may not have played. Whether we’re encouraging you to explore incredible new worlds or inviting you to see how a titanic series got its start, we think every game we’re going to be offering on our GOG Gem Promos will be an excellent title, and we hope you give them all a try.

After highlighting two great shooters in previous GOG Gem promos it's time for an awesome action-adventure game: Another World known in the USA as Out of This World. Created almost entirely by one person - Éric Chahi - for Delphine Software, the game was one of the biggest hits on the Amiga platform thanks to its atmosphere, cinematic feeling, great animation and the gameplay consisting of platform, puzzle and shooting elements. The story shows Lester, a young physicist, who suddenly finds himself in an alternate world after lightning struck during his experiment. Players role is to find a way to get Lester back to "our" world. The 15th Anniversary Edition, which is sold on GOG.com, introduced a remastered edition of the original (both versions are included) and some cool materials that showed how the game was made. With a 60% discount this is an offer you just can't miss.

So grab Another World 15th Anniversary Edition today for only $3.99! The promo ends tomorrow, April 21 at 5:59 a.m. EDT (10:59 a.m. GMT).
I think the promo ends in a couple of hours so get it while you can people! :)

This Anniversary edition lets you play with both the original and remade graphics, and has save games instead of password codes. It's the best version hands down!

amcdermo: I looked for this info on the game page but didn't see it.
Go eyes closed! I basically know all the different versions of this game. This one has also the beautiful original soundtrack in it's highest quality

PaladinHeart: I probably won't play this anytime soon as I felt the same way as SimonG about the difficulty when I played it years ago. Anyway I purchased it. I want to support this 60% off Wednesday thing, if nothing else but for the possibility we might see Baldur's Gate, Torment, or Sierra games on the 60% list someday. =]
The game is very easy, I can complete it in less than an hour and half maybe, but only once you've played it a lot. It's heavy on trial and error because it's very cinematic, so every scene in the game is a bit like a movie set piece. I love the feeling of it but some parts can be frustrating, like the one in the cave with the flood :P

The promo is now over
Typical - due to work I always miss the 1 day sales - missed this by 3 hours - still got Deperados so I got something for my quick peek LOL
Ah crap, I missed it. I've always wanted to play this again.
they didn't stop selling it, it's just not that cheap anymore ;o)
I missed it. :-(
If you missed the promo because of the PayPal 404 bug yesterday, please contact us through Support -> Contact Us -> My orders, payments and downloading games. I can process a failed order manually, but for technical reasons this will only work if you tried to purchase the game during the promo, but experienced problems.

It's awfully decent of you chaps to go through the effort of helping people who had technical problems. I mean, good customer service would dictate you do so, but many companies would have responded with "Gee, that's too bad."

Which is why I always shop at GOG.com, first.... )
