My fellow GOGers,

Tomorrow, my GOG account turns 1000 days old! To celebrate, I'm going to give out a few of my favorite games.

Background:
I sort my GOG bookshelf pretty meticulously, with games that mean more to me closer to the top. Hence, I'm running a contest to guess the contents of the top three shelves! Those to guess closest get some games!

For the hints, I've made up some plausible games titles, taken from words on the GOG shelf image of those games (yes, including the hard to read subtitles). To keep things from being completely blatant, I've taken half-words in some cases (but didn't combine them with anything). Here they are:

Top row (5 games): Lords of Magic III: Unreal Empire
Second row (5 games): Master of Steam: Age of the Incredible Journey
Third row (5 games): Lords of the Dungeon: The Ultimate Call of Dark Magic

I realize they probably don't uniquely identify 5 games, but I'm not looking for exactness!

So, ric1987 nailed the second row, and wlmiv nailed the first! That's pretty awesome!

For those wondering where "Ultimate" came from on row 3, it's the tagline on the MOO3 box. I realize now that my wording on the original contest post was a bit ambiguous on whether or not that would be included, for which I apologize!

wlmiv was the closest (1 game off) on row 3 as well, but since he/she already won row 1, the runnerups appear to be Lexor and dragobr. I guess there'll be 4 prizes total :-)

Congrats, guys! I'll send you PMs asking you which games you'd like shortly. As I mentioned, it'd be awesome to send some games from the rows you won, but if you guys have them or really don't want them, I can send other stuff.

This was super fun to put together -- I'll do a repeat on my 3-year GOG birthday in a few months. Thanks for participating! :-)

And now, for the choosing... So much to choose. Unfortunately none of the games in row 3 are in my wishlist, though it's interesting to know that somebody likes MOO3 =P

Hm... I'm waiting to see if a certain game will appear in the hidden gem sales. Mind if I wait and see for now? If it's not one of the daily deals, I'll make my choice in the end.
