I am running Wine on my mac (Snow Leopard macbook pro) and I was wondering what special configurations I would have to change for GOG to work on my computer. I tried running the setup file just like any other .exe on wine, and the installation window popped up in X11. The only problem is that when I tried to complete the installation, the only file that was actually installed was the desktop shortcut.
The specific game is Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, but I was wondering if there would be a general solution.

I also am running Snow Leopard on a macbook pro. I use the program Wineskin to do all of my GOG installations/game running and have had great success with it so far. It's free to download.

According to AppDB, Alpha Centauri has some problems running under Wine in even the latest tests - one person says they managed to control the crashing, but others have not been so fortunate. Here is the settings of the person who says they controlled the crashing:
