Lexor: This. And somehow top price is going down too, step by step - how is it possible according to FAQ and promo rules?
avatar
gameon: What do you mean?
People stopped paying "to be on the list" and every $.01 for DD increases base of purchases - so now mentioned 10% can include these $.01 prices as well -> it makes top price go down.

As more and more people pay less than the top price, the "top 10% contributors" pool for the purpose of determining the average gets larger and encompasses more people.

Suppose 90 people paid $10 and 10 people paid $100. The top price is $100, the average of what the top 10% of 100 total buyers paid..
Then 900 people paid $5. The new 10% is 100 people, and the top average is just $19.

I thought the lower purchases would lower the overall price. It's confusing how it all works.

Say you have 10 people. All of them spend $1, except for Person A, who spends $10. Person A is now the top 10%, and $10 is the price you have to beat.

Nine more people pledge $1; Person B pledges $2. The top 10$ is now Person A and Person B, and you'd only need to beat Person B's $2 pledge to break into the top 10$.

Or something like that. "pay more than the top 10% of people who have participated in this sale" doesn't mean what they probably think it means (Paying more than the top 10% would mean beating $1000).

ninja'd for like the third time today. Also, what the heck is going on with the forum's quote feature? Is it broken for anyone else?

They do, it just decreases as a square root, rather than linearly.

Woah, hello! Welcome to the forums, and it's nice you managed to pledge $1000 today.
The idea of this promo is good, but the way it was excecuted tells me that someone wasn't thinking things through.

The numbers of bundles sold exploded in the first hour and then slowed to a trickle as the price went up. Right now it sits at 2494 units sold and almost 20 dollars for Divinity 2.

I think that most people in here with an interest in Larian's games already own DD and BD, and 20 dollars is considered too much for a pre-order of an enhanced version of a game that can be have in sales regularly, either from Amazon ($6.75 Drm-free) or Steam ($7.50).

The "unlocks" tied to the number of bundles sold at the bottom right corner are wildly optimistic at this price too. Not even the first one (15000 units sold) has unlocked and at this rate maybe never will.

Someone dropped the ball on this one. Dropped it hard. And it hit a Dragon in the head.

I'm a regular, actually. I intended to pay anonymously but then realized there are clones of notable generous people running around, and I didn't want any of them to take credit for it. Solution: sockpuppetry.
350 posts!

Too lazy to check if because people enthusiastic about deal, or if people complaining about beat the average prices going up (since that happens with every BTA promotion on any site ever).

Xyem, unfortunately you're not the same without your cat. We love your cat.
This isn't really a pay what you want since you have all the games at tiers of price. Nice try.
Well that was a very misleading title, it's actually pay a minimum of $19 for the Divinity Anthology.
Can anyone tell me if they fixed the mouse sensitivity slider in Divinity II to be actually useful? I remember trying the demo and even the lowest setting was way too fast to be playable. I don't feel like wasting money ...again, looking at you The Witcher.

It's been a little while, but I don't remember having any complaints about the mouse sensitivity when I played DKS earlier this year.
