What's the chances of Gog altering their games so that they all save in the same location? I don't suppose there is any way for us to do this manually?

On a side note; I played FTL and Zafehouse diaries recently. Why are games that stretch out playing time by just being frustrating and repetetive so popular? Seriously, I have a job and other hobbies to occupy my time. I liked the gameplay and general ideas behind the games, but making you play the same game several times just to be able to use some of the other ships (by the time you finish the first run you will already have encountered each of the events at least a few times). And zafehouse diaries just randomly killing your team, or killing each other because each one is racist to the other except one who just hates the middle class. I don't mind difficulty but this play style is just frustrating. I used to (and still do) knock console games because they so often pad out a game by making you replay the same scene. It looks like these games are doing the same thing. I'm glad I bought them at 75% off because to be honest, free games on Kongregate are often more enjoyable to play.
I don't mind spending a few dollars for a few hours fun, I resent spending a few dollars on a little fun but mostly frustrating experience.

None, because GOG doesn't have access to source codes.

Because it is "retro sensibility" :)

Actually it is possible to redirect folders and such. It would be a bit of a pain to do though and you'd need to work out exactly where each game saves stuff (for example, if the save game folder is in program files then Windows will automatically redirect that to the virtual store you could then redirect that folder somewhere else).

But yeah, it'd be a right pain to do properly.
I'm going to get beat to death for derailing this thread but I always wanted to post the following:

Jesus saves...
Passes to Moses!
Moses shoots he scores!!!
There's no chance of GOG overriding save locations due to various technical considerations. Modern games are no better in this regard; at least with the very old games you can be sure the saves are somewhere within the installation folder. :)

You could consider using a save management program, e.g. GameSave Manager. This makes it much easier to know where your saves are and back them up and so forth.

If you're wanting to know where a particular game stores its saves you can try looking it up on PCGamingWiki. The pages there detail where saves and configuration files are stored, including cases where the GOG location differs from other versions (when applicable).

Many games use individual files for saves rather than tidy subfolders so a technical solution would need to be able to track individual files as well as folders (whereas things like Windows' junction point feature expect an entire folder).

That should help, thank you.
I suggest GameStow instead, it automatically uploads to their cloud servers (15 saves limits) and finds games much faster and more game saves than GameSave Manager.

In the end I found that making a small command line script to archieve my saves with 7-zip then throw them in a specific save folder to sync with DropBox worked the best but GameStow makes it very easy in case you're lazy.
I thought this thread was about the sanctity of GOG, and how all the Steam users will burn in hell. But it's not...
Some people here have no fucking sense of humor. How sad.

I wonder if the post would have been better received had I had Noah scoring the goal?

-3 points in five minutes.

Peter? Mary?
Any of these work?

Nah, Noah's a fucking jerk, always going solo.... also, I think he digs animals a bit too biblically.
