SimonG: I really don't want to be the spoilsport, but it doesn't take a lot of imagination to imagine the shitstorm it would create if two "kiddies games" were the releases of the week ...

Elenarie: Hah, so true.
I think it would depend on the level of perceived "kiddie"-ness or maybe the reputation of the company/game itself. Superfrog has a "kiddie" look to it, but people apparently accepted it because they knew otherwise. Likewise for certain other "E"-rated games.

However, obviously I want GOG to display good judgement. I don't exactly want some random Sesame Street game or Mavis Beacon here, but I'm still rooting for Humongous Entertainment and /maybe/ certain Broderbund/Learning Company games. Maybe "kiddie" games that have creative elements and a bit of "personality" to them should appear - I'd have to rewatch Zoombinis on YouTube, but those may be somewhat of an example of what I'm thinking.

EDIT: Well, here's Zoombinis Logical Journey:

SKILLS LEARNED:

* Observation Skills
* Data Sorting and Ordering
* Pattern Finding
* Theory Testing
* Graphing
* Logical Reasoning
* Problem Solving
* Statistical Thinking
* Algebraic Thinking
* Set Theory
* Strengthen Essential Problem Solving Skills

EDIT: Or part of the Super Solvers series, maybe.

Just so some of you are aware, I sent a message to The Learning Company about this happening (although I tried to steer them away from what one might call "obviously educational" titles like JumpStart, and more into Zoombinis, Super Solvers/Thinkers, Carmen Sandiego, etc.)

We'll see what happens; it was at least worth a try.
Ridiculous bump, because of a Reddit post today: http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1jf3xn/my_first_pc_game_zoombinis/
