I'm guessing most of us probably shopped at Gogamer.com once upon a time.

A while ago the site went offline with a note that it would be back. That note changed a few times and promised a revamp of services.

Today I happened to check back and noticed the notes are gone and the tag is now "for sale".

Sad. Preferring retail, this was where I got most of my games until they closed. Also, wouldn't be a bad domain for GOG to own ;)
Never heard of it, was it digital distribution or mail order or what?
Did you mean to write "most of US"? That sounds like a regional thing.
I hadn't heard of gogamer.com before this thread either.

A Google search lead me to:

I guess their "Under $10" gaming store is still live:
http://www.gogamer10.com/

Apparently their Amazon marketplace was available in 2011... I didn't check to see if it still is.

You are aware that that should be two capital G's, right? Thought this was GOG related.

never heard of it.

I like the word play, but yes, never heard of the site...

At one time they at least shipped to Canada. I got a few games there once (shipping charges were expensive unless it was averaged out over 3 or 4 games). The next time I checked they had switched to US only.
Many years ago Gogamer used to have lots of nice deals but I hate buying discs these days. I imagine crazy Steam sales on one side and Amazon on the other wiped them out.

edit:
Gogamer was a USA/ North America mail order company.

I thought this thread would be about GOG gamers, you know gog-gamer, gogamer.

I also assumed you were making a pun. Never heard of the company.
I forgot they existed. Bought Trackmania United there a year before it hit the Steam pile.
I would go to them for boxed copies before checking out places like gamestop. I stopped buying a few years ago when I found I didn't have any time to play. Sad to hear they are gone.
Used to look forward to the madness mail in my inbox when I lived in the States. When I moved back to New Zealand I would have to get my sister-in-law to order for me and then send games to me. You couldn't even order the games in NZ and send them to a US address!

I think limitations like that in today's digital distribution world would have made it harder for them. Along with all the sales...

I still love my bright red gogamer.com t-shirt tho! :-D
