Roman5: GOG knows it and I'm sure they are doing what they can to bring the publisher and it's games here, alas, just like with anything, it's going to take a ton of time for anything to actually move forward in this case

jamyskis: Not to mention that Zenimax seems obsessed with using Steamworks in its games to the point of absurdity, such that even rereleases of games such as Morrowind and Doom are inexorably tied to Steam nowadays.

The conspiracy theorist in me believes that Valve has some kind of exclusivity contract with Zenimax bound to a non-disclosure agreement designed to maintain the illusion of Valve being some kind of benevolent overlord in the PC market, but it's probably really only due Zenimax having an obsession with DRM.
I think it's more to do with the fact that Zenimax are ignorant and lazy, just like many other companies who think that "Steam = PC gaming"

the attitude they have seems to be "What? You don't use steam? well FUCK YOU then" similarly to how some other publishers have this attitude towards the American market compared to the rest of the world
