Runehamster: Ah, gotcha, so early afternoon here. Thank you much! And yes, I was logging on, just got disappointed a few times and quit bothering.
Best to wait around 10-15 minutes after the event starts and check then to see how many players are on. Some days events last for hours and the server is full while others events end in half an hour; it's about the chemistry of the teams, the maps that get nominated and played, the general mood of the regulars and so on.
--

This weekend we're going to run a small experiment and disable nominations and maybe even rock the vote and just run a custom mapcycle based on our current one.

To make this viable I want you guys to vote which maps you DISLIKE most so I can remove them from the mapcycle.

You can find the poll with all the maps at http://twtpoll.com/9prtnk . Please vote so we can have a good/generaly accepted mapcycle.

The server's just been paid for February; donations for March are now open at http://bit.ly/gom-donate or directly by PayPal to gom.donate@gmail.com

Don't forget to vote on our little mapcycle experiment at http://twtpoll.com/9prtnk

We've added some new maps to the server: first of all, the mirrored versions of ctf_2fort (ctf_trof2), cp_badlands (cp_sdnaldab) and cp_granary (cp_yranarg) as well as a new winter payload map similar to pl_badwater called pl_boundary_rc3.

Hope you'll enjoy them (and stop bitching about the mirrored maps, they're good and they're here to stay even if you don't vote for them) and see you on the server!

I've found a workaround for making pl_cashworks_rc2 work which was to rename it to _rc3 :D

This means that you can now vote for the map but you'll also redownload it from the server to get our "magical version"
I think I want to play TF2, having just finished Mars Attacks! And the two are not related.
We're nearly a year old, guys...

Birthdays mean presents.

Greggs pasty, it is!
Don't worry, I made drinking goblets for everyone, and I made sure to glue the teeth back on and plug the eye sockets so the goblets would hold liquid.
We now have sudden death mode enabled so if there's a tie we're going to go into sudden death.

Do you guys want it to be melee only?

...there's another kind of sudden death?
OK, sudden death is now melee only.

You can also now report incidents on the server by typing /report in chat; an option menu will open which will allow you to select which kind of ticket you want to open and also add a description to it.

You can also join #gogtf2 in QuakeNet which will broadcast all the chat on the server and you can chat back even if you're not playing. We intend to try and make it an option so that, for example, only if you type !irc message the text will get sent to our IRC channel.

Working on the IRC end as well so that only text that starts with a custom keyword gets sent to the game chat; this would mean that we can then move the bot to the main #gog channel without causing spam and message overflow both on IRC and in-game.
